Humans will call forth all of their strength to help others when we can not do the same for ourselves. We call forth a power strong enough to rip our muscles from our bones and clench our jaws enough to shatter, all for the protection of others.

Sacrifice comes in many forms. And to our newfound allies, they’ll learn how far even one person will go to ensure those they care about need not face the horrors they’re about to. A man could have all four limbs broken, body battered, barely able to breathe, but if spitting in his killer’s face will mean the killer doesn’t turn on his family long enough for them to get away, you can bet he’ll die with a shit eating grin on his face having spit twice.

anywhere life develops will be limited in rescources until they can open up for interstellar mining. meaning, either the concept of sacrifice is there. or it is not. more than likely, not. humans packbond to the extreme, going so far as to pack bond with inanimate objects within a matter of hours. its aone of the core mechanics that made humans rise to dominance. the odds of the very same notion being carried by otherworldly species, is less than minimal. most likely, they have either reached post scarcity, or, more likely, they are an aggressive, expanding empire of sorts. those are the most likely scenarios.

The idea of sacrifice is unique biologically to humans. It goes against logic, it goes against evolutionary demands. The thing is Humans succeed and do things that would doom any other species to extinction.

@Lorddacenshadowind

Sacrifice is illogical for survival, the logical thing is to save yourself but humans are really very illogical beings, we have delusions of mercy, justice and love, things which don't truly exist except where we make it exist.

What,no B5 Fans present? It falls to me then. "...for no grater love has man, than to give his life for another. Not for fame , not for glory, but in the dark where no one will ever know it!" Babylon 5 Go find the original quote, before the crazies erase it with their "remake". Remake my melta. You do not mess with perfection idiots! You admire it and try to be worthy. So far.. You have been found lacking.
