It's mind boggling how they just accepted that a species laid claim to half the Galaxy

Do want to point out the fleet and people that are pointed out that should populate the Galaxy are fewer than the humans . The greedy aliens might have expanded around the federation and profited by how gullible they were to say that they own half the Galaxy. When the greedy aliens could have sent satellites to claim the systems that are responsible for detection and sending messages.

The greatest threat to the galactic community when humans come onto the galactic stage is when human workers and humanity as a whole, fed up with horrible hours, terrible conditions, no benefits, and even worse pay and thus they all collectively decide to *Unionize* and *Strike.*

@chunkysweirdtoaster3081

The three superpowers suffered until they made the deal with the humans, and then the humans took down the old system that they enjoyed. They're going to bleed again, maybe even more compared to last time, if they don't play nice with everyone now. They know that they're wearing a gilded noose in the form of human manpower, and they can't do much about it if Humanity decides to tighten it. I'd say that and the shame that probably went along with these events are repurcussions enough. Humanity's less murder-y here, I guess.
@littlebeast5167

@@chunkysweirdtoaster3081 i guess they suffer? But killing the ambassador of a nation you are in conflict with, is sending a very destinct message. Time for talk is over, and time for blood to flow. You may incarcerate or deport a representative for various reasons. But nothing sends a more clear message of war, than killing the negotiator. Doing so, and then regretting right after? That is an action of a mentally challenged or a petulant child. Someone who drive a fist into a well built brick wall, and don't understand why it hurts.

Plenty of cases where this happened in human history. only 100 years ago, western governments used the military to put down even non-violent strikes and protests with casualties. While nobody got punished, the strikes were still successful in the sense, that voting rights, workplace conditions etc. changed massively.
@littlebeast5167
@littlebeast5167 Жыл бұрын
@@beyondEV for some reason, I can't see your response, except in my personal response feed. Anyway. There is a vast difference between civil uprising, which is what you describe. And one "nation" with their own military, executing another "nations", with their own military, ambassador at a summit. Which is what is described here. Even if you tried to draw a parallel to, say civil uprising of Indian people, against British occupying forces. No forces where occupying the human worlds. Humanity had their own sovereign rule, within their own borders. To get anywhere near, you would have Polish workers, forced to work for Russia, after second world war. But then, Russian military where already in Poland at the time. Leading to much suffering of the Polish people. Yes, there are plenty with cases of civilians killed by military. And you don't even have to single out the "western governments" as you did. When the most iconic picture of it, is a man blocking a tank in China. But that does not even remotely compare to, say USA ambassador pulling a gun, and killing the Irakian ambassador at a summit in Brussels, one month prior to the invasion of Iraq. And then all people, including Iraq, just shrugs, going "Oh, well." There would not be a nation on this world who would not condemn that action.

Sorry to be that guy, but has a worker's strike ever destroyed a corporation? The only successful strikes I know only ended up forcing the corporation to share a tiny bit of its profits with the workers.
@felixschrider9037
@felixschrider9037 Жыл бұрын
here in NZ a series of dock worker strikes nearly brough the economy to a halt. Violence was used to suppress them, but concessions were made. Similar story for the meatworker strikes a few decades ago. those had more measurable results for the strikers. I believe that in the case of the freezing works, several plants went out of business' over this, before they were forced to start making concessions. And given a large enough scale, yes strikes do work. In this case, a population exceeding that of any superpower, also being the mainstay workforce of the entire economy... yeah. a strike would work, probably more quickly than 3 months too.

@@anathardayaldar I can think of multiple examples in the UK alone. They can also destroy an entire industry. The miners strike in the early 80's did exactly that. It lasted so long the mines main clients (the power stations) started sourcing their coal from abroad. By the time the strike ended those contracts were pretty much set in stone and the power companies did not go back to British coal afterwards. It literally destroyed the coal mining industry in the UK. So yes, strikes can be powerful, but its also worth bearing in mind that sometimes, as in the case of the British Coal Miners Strike, the effects can be unintended....
