Ultimately, the best cert will depend on YOU and what YOU want to go for. I went with a base starting point of A+, then Net+, then Security+ and topped it off with a 2 year degree in security. I personally want to be a cloud engineer so now I am delving into Azure and VMware (Vsphere) certs. Pick your end game, then pick your path. Good Vid as usual.

@@am33x haha, usually it's your direct Managers. Lots of BIG companies have a tuition reimbursement program where they pay for your schooling, which also includes Certifications, materials and the exam cost. Usually the deal is you have to pass the class(no fail) or exam and you can't leave the company for a year. Other companies just have $$ in their budget for stuff like certs or learning material's. Once I was at a company and I would just ask for the books and they would buy for me. I would ask my manager or my managers manager if he/she wouldn't buy it for me... I got like $1000 in books at one job..

Totally agree on this. I remember applying online to multiple companies hoping i can land a job as a network engineer. Unfortunately, no one gave me a chance inspite of having 4 years exp as a helpdesk. I decided to pursue my çcna r&s cert and once i pass the exam. I got the job within a week. After spending 3 years as a network enginner. I got my security+ and it help me a lot to transition into cyber security. Pursuing your IT cert is very important . I know it's an investment because getting cert is not that cheap, not to mention spending countless hours to prepare for the exam but its all worth it!! So dont hesitate !!go fo it!!

If are you doing Google certification courses to learn, great. If are actually trying to get google certifications to get a job, you are wasting your time. Nobody will cares about google certs, probably not even google themselves. If you are a beginner, go with Comptia A+, if trying to get certified. As far as, programming goes I would not worry about it too much at this stage. I am not saying you shouldn't plan for the future but many times people trying to get into IT concern themselves too much with things like learning programming, getting CCNA , AWS , Linux cert and so forth, from the beginning . They end up overwhelmed and burn out. I am not sure what your actually knowledge is but I am assuming you are complete beginner in IT. Worry about the getting the foundations down first. Programming will help but you are better off worrying about the foundations of IT first.

Do not skip the A+, it is the main core certification many jobs require. Imagine you have 5 certifications but not the A+, and the applicant who got hired had only the A+. Question though. Would you say a company like say... 2ko.co.za providing courses and 'guidelines' to get certified in the preferred field, I.e. Cloud, that it's better to follow the affiliate group you mentioned and self study or actually have a IT person take you through the material for around 1500 $ including exams?

how about Linux certifications? I know RHCSA is the most in demand, but I don't see many job postings for it, maybe just Linux Knowledge without certs is enough? LOL

Nice video but I'd rather go with Linux certification than Microsoft (even though they have new list of certification). =)

I dont have any I.T. certifications or experience and am jumping into the field. What would you recommend to start with out of these: The options I have right now are CCNA, the CompTIA cysa, red hat certified system admin, or AWS certified solutions architect
@justine42050
@justine42050 Жыл бұрын
No IT experience? Then none of those lol, start with A+, land a help desk job, then get CCNA, and from there figure out what route you want to go, Networking, Cybersecurity or Cloud. For networking get the CCNP after CCNA, Cybersecurity get Security+ then Cysa, for Cloud get the CCP and then the Solutions Architect

Just keep applying and go for interviews until you get a job, if experience kinda makes you discourage you, don’t be discouraged. Build a virtual lab because you can virtualize anything tbh

Jimmy’gimmee’gimmee I guess it depends on how far along are you in your studies. If you just started then yea, just switch to cisco. But if you’re almost ready for the exam, then go ahead and cross the finish line
