Absolutely agree that this is their best work, a nice blend of everything that they do extremely well. I also would agree about their last album, it released the same day as the sea of tragic beasts and the latter has seen many, many more plays.

It's weird because I feel like stylistically the band has been heading in the same direction since Micro, which was the first their music truly grabbed me. But back then the 4 songs off of Micro weren't really enough to make me a fan so when Macro released it cemented my love for them. I feel like this new album is going even further in the same proggy direction, but heavier.

@@jitteryzeitgeist I just went through a round of their earlier work. It seems like their main influences are definitely AIC and Pantera. Early work has a touch of thrash more akin to Slayer but still had that groove. Their music definitely gotten more proggy as they grew as a band. Their work tells a story and this particular video gives you that visuals of one's world crashing in front of their eyes. This band is really on the cusp of being one of the top acts worldwide and will transcend beyond metal.

@@drumkidstu Definitely, but it kinda goes without saying since they're a prog djenty kind of band. The breakdown is pure meshuggah. The high clean vocals in the first minute and a half have a touch of layne staley imo. The Tool I'm not totally hearing, at least not beyond the fact that they're both progressively inclined.

After you follow the Candle’ fly out the window,.. You see it.. Everything is getting sucked in’ ... Like their music usually does’.. After you see the building they were playing in, pass by... It enters the Vortex’.. And it responds to Tatiana! Once in,.. All the debree’ is forming into a Giant JINJER’ Mega-Zord’ or some Shit’,... Fricking BRILLIANT! Ahah, I've been watching your video (and discovering this new Jinjer song) just after listening to Frontierer's "Molten Larva" and when that last breakdown hit, I just thought "oh, what a clean lighty break", if that makes any sense. But I guess pretty much everything seems clean and kind after Frontierer. You should check them out. You'd like them. One of the heaviest bands in the game nowadays, and they're about to release their 3rd album. Btw as usual with Jinjer (even if I've liked some parts), I'll have to come back to this song a few times to fully appreciate it and get its "personality". But I guess this breakdown will slap live.

@@alanzimmerman1674 that is true. The only thing annoying me about Jinjer's later stuff in particular is that the drums (in particular the snare) and vocals sound very direct whereas the guitars seem distant pushed to the back. Which does sound cool for the opening of this song but once the whole band starts playing it seems a little weak to me, but I can see the appeal to keeping a more raw sound. Spiritbox are a bit more of a mainstream metal core band compared to Jinjer so it makes sense they'd want a cleaner production.
