I had a neighbor like this once. She thought it was her God given right to blast her music so loudly that my floor vibrated. I worked nights and tried to be neighborly and explain the situation and she just slammed the door on my face. When I went to work that night I put my speakers against our shared wall and cranked "We're not gonna take it" by Twisted Sister until I got home just before noon. I never had another problem with her again.

Ridiculous. Steve Martin was a boomer himself. Who do you think comprised his audience if not other boomers? Or are you trying to say that you're a boomer, and your parents didn't get him? Cuz that's not what you actually said. What you said contains the definite inference that your parents are boomers. I'm just trying to think of a way that there could be any truth to what you said, and the only way I can find is to guess that you THOUGHT you were implying that YOU were the boomer in this scenario.

I'm still so sad that by the time I learned about this man, years ago, he had already passed. Even with that, absolutely one of my favorite comedians. His delivery, his self-deprication when he thinks (or knows) a joke just bombed, just everything. His bit about restaurants skipping to the next reservation/group if the previous one isn't there in time will forever live rent free in my head. Most of his jokes will.

So this joke hits hard because it's a true story but what he didn't know at the time was the next door neighbor was the iconic Nick Di Paolo. Nick told a story about his neighbor blasting music at 2am and nick pounded on the wall and all he heard was a voice yelling "no one is home leave a message"
