Wing Chun is good, when I fought at my old mma school i would integrate some of the techniques with my mma style. When someone went in close fot knees or a takedown, i used wing chun to stun than switch to using a takedown and finish them off. People tend to underestimate this style but its very good if u know how to use it in your own way since everyone is different

I took Kenpo Karate around 25 yrs. ago. Both my teachers could do these kicks, all of them, when they were around 15 years old. My teacher Rick Ianuzzo still has his school, Jeff Ianuzzo my other teacher, was killed in a trucking accident. Jeff was an incredible forms artist. I watched Rick kick a hand pad out of somebodies hand who was 6'2", with a front leg round house over his head, with power. I was just amazed. This is amazing. Flexibility is where power comes from, all you young guys out there, believe that, and don't believe the haters below. Joe Rogen will tell you that too!!

@Intdu8264 жыл бұрын
Start with simple leg stretches and then move on to leg and hip drills and of course kick the bag or something. I recommend joining a taekwondo school if you really want to hone your kicks cause tkd emphasizes most on the use of legs as a main offense tho taekwondo isn’t really great at real fight(for me) but it’s great for developing fitness and discipline.

As cool as these all are, the power comes from sending the whole body in a direction and kicking through the target, as if trying to chop it in half with your leg. Standing leg is not just for standing but for driving the body forward and thus to increase power of the impact. Most of these show very impressive flexibility, but that is just a demonstration of flexibility and balance but nothing else. Some moves shown do display power potential.

The kicks in the video look really cool, especially if you are not a fighter and do not know the difference between a showcase kick and a knockout kick that will break necks. But at the end of the day they are just a tip-tap shit and have no real power (I would say no more than 3-4 out of grade to 10). It is the same like when people are showboating with nunchucks by performing acrobatics and equilibristic show tricks, for which it is more than obvious that you cannot use in real fight (complicated to perform and not enough powerful). There are many examples of really powerful high kicks, and may be Mirko Cro Cop is the most obvious one. Just observe what he does (check videos below), you can also check Joe Rogan - yeah, the radio host, he has also very powerful high kick (and his turning back kick is the one of the most powerful ones I have seen). You can also check Kenji Midori (so called The little giant) - his high kick is also very powerful. Here are some videos of the mentioned fighters: Mirko Cro Cop: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fHKqo5-uga-lkKM Joe Rogan: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pYimZ6tqhtaqm5Y (check also his ushiro mawashi and ushiro geri kick, they are really insane) Kenji Midori: kzbin.info/www/bejne/q5uVlISerd5pqbs (check at 0:17 breaking of 2 baseball bats with high kick) I could give you many more examples of really strong high kicks, but for the purpose of proving my point, those should do.
