I like how these units keep getting better and better. If they could come up with a lower wattage glow plug version it would be compatible on pretty much any power station.

It would be helpful if they could lower the start up draw just a little while the glow plug is on. Would love a small propane forced heater. Some thing small that uses less power than RV furnace but use on board tanks

I can work around these issues BUT with the temp is set lower then ambient, the fan speed/heating lowers way down as it should works great however it stays running on low regardless of where the temp is set, and eventually get's TOO HOT!!! Will any of these controllers cycle the burner off when it gets too hot???,and back on again??? if I get an aftermarket one?thanks

The problem with a lot of these heaters Hcalory included, is the controller. Most are a nightmare with few options that make any real difference. I have a aftermarket controller that provides a lot of useful options like fuel consumption per hour or frost start where it automatically fires up when the temp nears freezing. Mine has 2 hour meters giving total hours on machine and total hours on last fill up. Plus a remote temp sensor. And lots of other useful features.

1:30 - the pickup position being slightly off the bottom is better, particularly for cold weather, as it keep the tube from picking up water. This is especially beneficial, as these units lack a water separator.

@Bob.Jenkins
@Bob.Jenkins 15 күн бұрын
There's no situation where it'd be a great idea to pick up fuel directly from the bottom of the tank. Diesel is commonly referred to as a 'dirty' fuel - simply because it (nearly) always contains contaminates; usually from the large, unclean and unmaintained suppliers tanks. I'm aware that many of these devices come with a fuel filter but if that filter gets repeatedly clogged then it's just going to be a one major hassle after another. If your Diesel Heater doesn't come with a Fuel Filter then I advise installing one - it's an easy DIY job that, though occasionally fiddly, is one well worth doing. I'd recommend using the small filters with the mesh filter rather then a paper filter - because these are easily cleaned and re-useable. Note: Pay attention to the direction of fuel flow through the filters. Fuel Tank -> Fuel Filter 'bulb' -> Inside Fuel Filter Filter -> Pump. You want any contaminates to settle in the 'bulb' and outside of the actual filter mesh, not inside.

Yesss!! Get a Tupperware tub about the same size or slightly bigger but not a deep one. Shallow style .. Flip it up side down and cut the ends to fit the heater hose coming out and some holes on the other end for air going in. Also elevate it off the ground maybe a small little table or or 2x4s in case of heavy rains. The tub works great

They both have a couple advantages. This one is quicker to get to the engine and do stuff if needed. Verses the metal outside cover has screws that all need to come off. Plus a tall skinny profile you will need some add on foot pegs or it will blow over. Plus needs to be lifted anyway. The app is way better and talks better on the Hcalory so that’s actually nice. The other had connection issues but the remote did work. Over all the Hcalory is pretty nice just on the higher price side. I’ll be using it several days in about two weeks for a trip

Would depend on how often and how much you use it. Once a year with regular use. Maybe every other with light use.

Your fuel is not perfectly clean. You don't want fuel to come off the bottom of the tank as that is where sediment and water will sit.

the pump is same crap quality like other chinese ones. Makes same annoying ticking sound. If you pay this much extra you would hope they would give a near silent pump.
