In a lot of ways it feels like he would go back to the general premise with _Forever Peace_. Which would win both the Hugo and Nebula when it came out. Apparently he and Gordon had disagreements during the writing process, so that would make some sense out of it. Either of them probably could have made an interesting film alone but together we're stuck with something that's worse due to the conflict. All wrapped up in the typical Charles Band cheapness. Even if it was Empire's most expensive film. That's what's so interesting about it. All of them have produced great work before, but combined it was just a complete failure.

I loved Robot Jox as a kid. AS A KID! There's a sequel that I was excited to find, again, as a kid, called Robot Wars. It's not even remotely as enjoyable as Robot Jox, as it's probably the first time I remember feeling ripped off by a movie. Robot Wars is literally over an hour of painfully slow build up with bad "action" scenes and exposition, then ends with maybe 2 minutes of actual giant robots fighting. Really, it's one of the most one-sided fights I remember ever seeing, with the lower-tech antique robot just ripping apart the supposedly high-tech indestructible antagonist robot almost immediately. I remember looking at my brother after watching it and saying "What the fuck was that?!?" loud enough that I got in trouble with my mom.

6:34 Anyone else wonder about the lost BotW episode Jay mentions in passing? What were those other two movies? What great jokes did we miss out on? The world may never know.

From the way they talk about the lost episode, sounds like the other two movies were just Robot Jox and Rotor. Can't attest to jokes we may have missed, but some of them probably just got used again for this episode.

It occurs to me that those 50 movie DVD packs are now just what make up most streaming services now. Only at least with the DVD pack you knew you weren't getting anything good whereas now all the bad movies are mixed together with the couple of good ones

R.O.T.O.R. looks and sounds like a movie that was crafted geniusly to be hilariously bad. Those extended establishing shots with the lame punchline sound hilarious, I have to see it.

ROTOR is absolutely worth watching, it's hilariously bad. There are so many continuity errors it's ridiculous, but somehow it manages to transcend its own awfulness and be something genuinely enjoyable.

R.O.T.O.R. could have been a really good movie. Who wouldn't want to see a psychotic version of Robocop going Maniac Cop on a city?

I personally love Robot Jox because it was one of the dozen sci-fi VHS movies my dad had. The jungle gym trial, illiteracy, gourmet hotdogs never phased me.

Is Robot Jox a film directed by Stuart Gordon? Well, my favourite Gordon film is Dolls made in 1987. I love that film.

So I's starting to believe that the movie "Soldier" starring Kurt Russell is a high budget rip-off of "Robot Jox". Haven't seen Robot Jox yet, but the training scenes of the lethal gymnastics on jungle gyms, the lab-made soldiers that act like machines, the dishonored protagonists, the 2 fight structure where the good guy loses in the first act and redeems himself in the 3rd act... more things I'm sure.... Seems like too many things to be a coincidence.

There's actually two different versions of ROTOR that go by two different titles. There is ROTOR then there is the longer version called Blue Steel. The Blue Steel version makes it much clearer that it's supposed to be a satire/comedy. It's got a bunch of cringe inducing comedy scenes with back pain they cut out of rotor. Also robot cop breaks the 4th wall and says the movies plot is horrible and a terminator rip off at one point. So this was meant to be intentionally funny but someone took the film and cut out a lot of the comedy scenes in an attempt to pass it off as a serious film in the ROTOR version. The Blue Steel version is a bit more tonally consistent when it's obvious that the movie is supposed to be a spoof.

Ver - Say 'fair', now change the hard f to a soft v: "vair" hoe - Say 'who' , that's it! ven - Say 'fun', again, change the hard f to a soft v: "vun" Finally, place the emphasis on 'who'. You guys forgot to mention that the guy in R.O.T.O.R is telling what happened in flashback,so he's talking about his daily routine where he lives;giving his horse coffee and so on....what would be the point in telling the cops what you do before you go to work when you're suppose to talking about a murderous cyborg that you created in the beginning?

No, G Gundam uses a similar premise to Robot Jox. A movie made half a decade earlier.
