Sure to try this. And you were very right on one thing. I cannot develop a too flat footage in post. ( Maybe my Davinci knowledge is not great 😃)

A lot comes down to the camera just not being built for super flat images. I hardly correct anything now. Just a few tweaks here and there. Though I do still use a flatter image for any client work, it’s just not worth it for KZbin. I hope my setting help but don’t be afraid to experiment with your own.

@@RustyRoj I am using primarily to capture stock footage to stock sites like Shutterstock and Envato. This method will save time and also get a balance results I guess

Just to be sure. Are your settings for video or photo or both?

This is mostly for video. Though I do leave it in this profile all the time when shooting photos too for simplicity incase I need to hit the record button while in photo mode. I only shoot photos in RAW so it doesn’t really matter what profile I’m in when shooting photos.

I use c log I want to get better at color grading it's still a challenge Been using it for about 2 month and very little improvements hhh When I want the video the video to be good I shoot at standard picture profile with some tweeks Other than that C log all the way 😂

Yes if I’m shooting anything of consequence , like a client video, I always use a log profile. For my own vlogs though I just wanted to keep it simple and try to get the look I like straight out of the camera. It’s not for everyone, but it’s something I struggled with as a newbie so thought I’d share for those in a similar situation.

Right now I'm shooting on an M6 mk ii and I use the cinestyle color profile. I use Resolve to LUTs, the Canon log to Video LUT to move over. I need more experience with it because I shot it a little too bright.
