I'm from Baton Rouge, LA and I can say from my two visits to the Colorado Springs area, the traffic in Baton Rouge is so much worse than Colorado Springs. Colorado Springs has 3X the population of Baton Rouge but no where near the amount of traffic congestion. My family and I were amazed by this. Also, everyone I have met in the area have been really nice and accommodating. I'm sure once I make the move to the area that I'll probably run into a a few people that won't appreciate my presence in their state. But I have pretty thick skin and a big smile to combat any negative attitudes. Thank you so much for your informative videos. They're a very valuable reference when deciding on how I want to move forward with my move.

I moved to Colorado Springs a month ago. Came from Naples Florida. Naples is so open and welcoming. We welcomed everyone with open arms. I really love it here in Colorado Springs so far, but something that has been really hard adjusting to is the tourism-phobia. Every time I look up information about the cities and towns around us, I read comment after negative comment hating on new residents and/or tourists. It breaks my heart a little bit :/

I recently moved here from Hawaii. For the most part people I encounter while out running errands are nice. However, I was working at a school here in Colorado Springs, very bad. The kids are being verbally abused and border line physically abused. I was bullied by the same teachers that are bullying the students. However, the teachers are from California. So sadly to say there is those moving to Colorado that have messed up morals.

@@annesand7157 My 13yr old daughter went to Galileo Middle last year. This year she attending the Airforce Military Academy. She absolutely loves it. She's handing around the other children with goals and ambitions. Which is great because she was falling into hanging with the wrong crowd in Galileo. We're very happy about her turn around. She loves the Military Academy. They take them up in a plane and let them take over the controls 5 times a year. They do search and rescue missions, PT and other really cool outdoor activities. She's learning great skills like self respect and discipline. I highly recommend this path for anyone that may be in a similar situation.

@@JesseSwaney That is great. I am very happy for your daughter. I hope she does well in life. My younger son is in the USAF, stationed at Barksdale Air Force Base Louisiana. He is part of the flight Crew on the B52 Bombers. They are currently in Jordan. His first text to me when he got to Jordan, “The sand sucks.” GOD Bless you and your family.

From Illinois, stationed at Fort Carson back in 90-91. Started going back to visit the Springs about 5 years ago and couldn't believe the population explosion out there! And yes the traffic can be a nightmare. Still beautiful area with nice people. Hate how so many places have trash all over them. I can't believe people can be that disrespectful to such a pretty place. The homeless aren't really helping things either frankly.

Thoughts on moving to Estes Park? I got a wildlife biology internship with Rocky Mountain National Park and so I'm moving there this winter. I've noticed the housing there to be quite expensive(although I come NW Arkansas where i currently pay $735 a month to get a really nice 1100 sq ft 2 BD x 2 BA apartment on a golf course), so I'm trying to decide if it will be worth it to live there if they hire me on full time. Thoughts on kind of how much I would need to make bare minimum to live there?

Hi Walter! We love Estes Park! It’s a beautiful town, but the smaller mountain towns can be a little pricey. Unfortunately, I am not familiar enough with the market there to be able to guide you on what rentals would be there. If you can make it work, it’s a great place to be!
