Isa akong Grade 12 student na nagpaplano na pumasok sa UP at hanggang ngayon e hindi ko pa rin alam ang pre med na kukuhanin ko but somehow gusto ko ang BS Nursing. Im not from UP kasi di ako pinayagan na kumuha ng upcat ng parents ko kaya i took bs nursing here in a local state college na top performing school din and since medyo mababa sila magbigay ng grades (with laudes being so so rare), i was doubting if whether makakapasok ako sa intarmed ng upcm. GWA as a major factor ay parang hindi pareho ang laban, comparing the "difficulties" between programs for bio, pharma, nursing, medtech etc.

This is so true. And to think that they overlooked this for so many years is puzzling. Take for example the subjects in MedTech’s curriculum, all the Chemistry subs one can think of, those are very technical that require not just memorization but more importantly understanding. And of course, BS Pharma, kaloka di ba, the curriculum in this course can cause epistaxis.

Most of the subjects in PT like in 3rd year are the same subjects for first year Med are taking like Anatomy, Physiology, Pathology, Histology and Psychiatry. Also we are using the same textbooks. If your school has Medicine course, most of the time you have the same professors/doctors doing the lectures. 4th year PT they have subjects like Orthopedics, Neuro, Cardio, Pulmonary, Medicine, Pediatrics, Geria, Pharmcology. And most textbooks are taken from Medicine. In addition, PT’s are also trained to do Assessment, Examination and Evaluation of patients. Also providing treatment. So these skills are important in actual patient interaction. So they have at least have the grasp on the major subjects. Of course it will still depend on the student on how he/she will manage all the learnings. By the way cadaver dissection is also fun during PT student life. 😊😊😊

Hi Doc Dalvie! I'm an incoming LU3 student in UPCM. I graduated Management Engineering in ADMU. I can say that the adjustment factor also applies to non-traditional pre-med courses.

Hi Doc Salvie . Do BS in Biology have educational Units to take ? I'm a senior High school student and planning to take BS Bio as my pre med but sad to say we are financially stable so the reason why I'm planning to get this course is that I don't wanna proceed to medicine proper yet.I just wanna find a job but if ever there would be a chance then I'll continue my study for med school . It's my dream to be a medical student someday.
