The worst part of PIE is that it doesn’t matter if you touch your pimple or not, its still gonna leave a red mark. And then if you try and squeeze the pimple a whole bunch of blood comes out.😢

As far as I know PIE is more common with lighter skin and appears because of the dilation of blood vessels instead of the production of melanin related to PIH. That‘s why PIH turns brown/dark whereas PIE looks like redness that just wont go away. Not a professional though so you‘d be better off researching cause I might be wrong :)
@sadiyaakter85363 жыл бұрын
Same my thought
@StephanieRZАй бұрын
@@MilenaiguessIt’s true, oftentimes they associate our skin complexion or skin tone, for reference, to simplify (it does help), PIE is often for lighter complexions because it’s pink & red tones, and PIH is brown whether light or dark tones of, oftentimes as hyperpigmentation, which is usually produced in the higher melanins in the skin. Beautifully but it’s a simple dermatology reference!

In case anyone sees this comment, know that Differin and Cetaphil are both owned by Galderma. If you are looking at any of the Cetaphil products that would be targeted for acne, look first to see if Differin has the same type of product. For example, Differin also has a redness relieving night moisturizer which is the exact same formulation as the Cetaphil, but is $2-3 cheaper.

Just so people know, mainly Azelaic Acid (15% Finacea/gel is the best), and then after that, Tranexamic acid is really what will do the most by far with PIE and general redness. Then there's tretinoin, but I can't tell if it's doing anything itself, or if there's less PIE just because there's now less acne in the first place. For me, tretinoin ain't cutting it at all in the slightest for PIE, after 7 months of daily use (no irritation from the tret from the start). I now realised that I still needed to address the bacterial component of acne, so things are looking way better now compared to just using tret alone. Then all the other ingredients mentioned there are like, baby-ingredients for PIE. I've been using Niacinamide for ages and it's also not cutting it in the slightest. On reddit I can see that people don't care much for centella for PIE. For the Tranexamic acid, a great product for it is "Hada Labo Shirojyun Premium Medicated Whitening Lotion Moist 170ml" (also awesome for hydration, apparently it's just as hydrating as the "Gokujyun Premium Hyaluronic Acid Lotion" (make sure you find the exact one, in the consistency that you want, since there's a number of them and Japanese companies don't like to put English on their stuff). As far as the Azelaic Acid, 15% gel is far more potent/bioavailable than the 20% cream (8% vs 3% penetration). In the U.S. they are prescription strengths, in many other countries they are not prescription.
