For those that do not know, the 1994-1995 Mustang 5.0 GT has more naturally aspirated horsepower potential than the 1996-2004 4.6 2 valve Mustang GT. Trick flow heads, cam ect will give you more power than a 2 valve can get n/a.

I didn’t know that. I always thought the 4.6 was the better motor. And wasn’t that 5.0 actually a 4.8 or something?
@toTheWatcher3 жыл бұрын
I agree the early sn95 model with 302 had much greater potential. They are just unloved because you rather have a lighter foxbody than a dumpy jellybean. The ford 4.6L was quickly forgotten as the great Chevy LS was later crowned king baby!
@toTheWatcher3 жыл бұрын
@@spideybuildscars the older 302 was a 4.9L, but who's counting and most tricks for the prev gen foxbody worked on it. The 4.6L was reliable, but very forgettable until 2005, unless you had a 4v that were in the svt or mach 1 special edition. Otherwise it was like ya had a 2dr crown vic.

@@spideybuildscars technically i think its a 4.94. Better than working with only 4.6 liters in naturally aspirated form. If you want boost i suggest looking for a 4 valve 1996-2001 Mustang Cobra. 96 would be cheaper and they can handle a lot of power. Like 600+whp all day.

As of always when i see a video like this, i like to do a quick list of prices in Portugal! 1. E46 330ci - Could only find one cabrio automatic - 15.000 euros. 2. Infinity G35 - 17.000 euros. 3. Mazda Rx8 - 13.000 euros. 4. Mx5 (separating by models) - NA - 8/12.000 euros. 5. Mx5 NB - 8/12.000 euros. 6. Mx5 NC - 16/18.000 euros. 7. Mx5 ND - 17/35.000 euros (depending on it being newer/older/1.5/2.0) 8. Mustang (we dont have this one so ill paste the cheapest one listed here) - 18.000 euros. Being an enthusiast in europe is hella fun as you can see... on top of that the regulations are absurd and you cant do anything with your car at all (and when i say this im serious) so yeah, i hate pretty much anything remotely related to the US, but in regards of car culture, i kinda wish i had the same opportunity.

@@spideybuildscars if you are really rich and drive like supersportcars the police doenst have the knowledge enough to judge the cars power, so in that case you can basically do what you want. in a somewhat more approachable way is the new M's from BMW, for some reason these cars can be modified as much as you want, as long as you dont widebody it. But for example, i have a friend with an integra type R (honda) that is imported from japan so it has the japanese front bumper. he got his car taken by the police 2 times already. the car is unmodified. Why? 1. they dont recognize the bumber and they think he is lying. or, and this is the funniest one (and saddest) 2. a lot of civic tuning owners that fight these regulations buy type R seats for their cars, so a lot of people with ACTUAL type rs ger in trouble. (the newest type R tho is fine, bc its so diff to a point they believe) But yeah, these are two examples, basically most of car culture in Portugal is buying a over expensive sportscar so that you can finally do some things. if you use a more "common" car, like audis for example, or old bmws, there is no getting away.

Now there is a cheap fix and expensive way. New upgraded oil pump is like 400$ but you can just buy a new nut that can be held on with a wire tie for 15$. But this is only a problem if you drive the car hard. Mine had over 200k and the nut was still fine but I still did the cheap fix when the pan was off.

And most importantly, you can boost it with a cobra blower for as little as $1500 and make upwards of 350whp with the stock cobra pulley, more if you get smaller aftermarket pulleys but the best part is, the 3.8 block is much, MUCH stronger than a crappy 302 block. I just got my First car, ended up getting a mx-5 nc and absolutely love it, less comforts than the fiesta st I learned but is a better first car than everyone else around me, but being the fact it is winter rn, I have slid out the back end on some icy juntion at 4am 😂

Enjoy it while it isn't rusted to pieces. There is no rustproofing at all, otherwise I'd have one for sure.
