I'm upgrading my 3090 TI to the 4090, DDR4 Ram to DDR5 Ram, & Rysen 9 5500X to the 9950X. I have an X570 MB & wanted to see my options, your video was very helpful & throughl. I have massive 420mm, 360mm, & 140mm radiators & even watercooled my Ram. Mine was no budget build though & required high skill swirl bending some of the tubes. I'm surprised you weren't more adamant about watercooling the GPU, but less than 1% of PC Builders build open loop cooling systems like I have done. I liked your video because your recommendations were highly accurate, & you were very knowledgeable. I do alot of video editing & photoshop work & currently have 128GB's of System Ram which seemed to be overkill. I'm going to tweak on Over Clocking the entire build to see what kinds of speeds & FPS I can get at 4K & monitor the temperatures. Keep up the good work, again great job on your well put together video!

Z690/Z790 if you want most performance with solid VRMs. Possibly Asrock PG Lightning/similar check board reviews also. I have had B760M (you could go cheap B660M) Asrock that was fine too originally paired with 12700KF but now it's with 12400F for office. I've used 2 x Asus TUF Gaming Wifi Z690s with 12700KF & 12900KF, but they have USB dropout quirks (I went Linux it would rear it's ugly head a lot in Windows 11 but the B760M from Asrock was less fiddly/issues). I've had better stability gaming with ecores off, was having problems with game dropping from P core to E core (namely WoW). Would see the reviews but my Asrock PG itx/ac from 9th gen Z board is still solid today, I think that is one solid line. Some of the Asus boards have issues with USB failure to detect/dropout, it's annoying when you want to boot and keyboards or mice won't plug in/detect period. Also had some BSODs across 3 ram kits on that Asus Z690 so caveat emporium with that board, if they are priced similarly might be worth going with a competitor. Gigabyte Aorus I believe those have white boards, if you want a white board those cost more but will match (NZXT also does white). GL.

I’ll stick with my 7950x3d for the time being. I use my PC primarily for work so I typically jump all over the newest flagship hardware as it’s easily justifiable for me. Having said that I also want it to game. Pretty disappointed in the 9950x performance. Wasted opportunity by AMD to really kick Intel while they were down. Hopefully the x3d chips blow us away. If the 7800x3d was an option for me I would go that route, but I need the cores. It’s amazing in the wife’s PC. ZERO stability issues with either PC.

Me bought 850W for 9950x, but currently running on internal GPU. Power draw is ~270W. Additional GPU would consume 300-400, so 850W is fine. Yes, 1200W is overkill indeed.

9950x is a dud. Just save the money and get a 7950X instead. There is no reason to purhase the 9950x over the 7950x! Also the 9900X and 9950X owners have to worry about scheduling conflicts now just like the 7900X3D and 7950X3D did. The 7950X didn't have to worry about scheduling conflicts out of the box.

noo,why you suggest this crappy cpus at all(unless you get them for free or be payed by sime store or amd)? Otherwise they are too expensive and gives basically none improvements or 1-3% over zen4 counterparts and you cant call that improvements

In short: If your interest is gaming wait for the 9000 series X3D launches soon rather than get this now. Otherwise stick to the 7800X3D if you have to have it now. Optionally, wait until that X3D launch and compare prices and performance between the best AMD gaming CPUs for some potential savings to your wallet.

Thats a good sum up! And I would add if you have less of a budget the 7600 is looking really good to get people into AM5 right now

Why buy cpu that underperforms worse than the previous model and pay extra for it . Every review of this cpu is terrible , I was waiting to purchase the 9800x 3d because I'm stuck with a rubbish 13700k degrading and even feel let down by AMD now . The pc market is absolutely rubbish at the moment .

@Roundhead754 ай бұрын
@@2hotscot no , but I might aswell wait for the 9800x 3d reviews as I'm not in any rush, but it's not looking very good even for the 9800x3d if the rest of the line up is like this, plus I'm waiting for the x870 boards in September, again no point buying a 670 if I only have to wait a month , just a very disappointing launch thats all , was expecting something a bit better.

No doubt it's a great work performance CPU, but AMD should've focused more on single core gaming performance, without having to upgrade to a 9xxx3D architecture. Step up your game AMD! BTW - Take a shot every time Jason says "9950X" on that intro! 😄

Well if you have the budget to purchase a high end CPU like Ryzen 9950x you won't think twice and buy another lower GPU than 4070 ti super it just doesn't make sense

For the rest of Ryzen 9000 I totally agree, but people interested in this type of build are likely doing professional applications on their pc so for those that truly need the best of the best I think its worth it. We are using ours as our new main video editing rig for example.

But what if you just wanna crunch a bunch of numbers... 16 fast cores with AVX-512 could be better than a double precision GPU depending on the workflow. And you "technically" can use ECC on AM5 too. But yes for just gaming 7800X3D is king still.
