The Untouchables is a 1987 American crime film directed by #BrianDePalma, produced by #ArtLinson, and written by #DavidMamet. This is the great #shootingrange scene when #JimMalone (#SeanConnery) and #ElliotNess (#KevinCostner) recruit #ItalianAmerican #trainee #GeorgeStone (birth name #GiuseppePetri) played by #AndyGarcia for his superior #marksmanship and #integrity.

Detail i just noticed: Stone/Petri empties his service weapon (black finish) right handed on the range. Later, he left hand draws a totally different pistol (chrome finish) on Connery's character. Giuseppe Petri is translated to George Stone in English. Petri is the same as Cephas in Greek. This is really the way people spoke to one another when I was a kid growing up on Long Island. People used to be able to handle a little razzing back in the day it was part of American culture and human nature. Some of my best friends still greet me this way. That's how Americans (who immigrated or who's parents came from all over the world) used to speak to one another and we got through it. People assimilated, spoke English in solidarity and became true Americans. Nice job the new generation is doing schooling us in how to behave. Yeah.
@audionmusic2787

As masculine behavior became controversial, the men of the Hippie generation caved in to every farcical demand of women. Why? To get laid. Agreed with every stupid thing they said. “Yeah baby, sure. Whatever you say…” The Boomers destroyed the social structure of our society. The women were taught that femininity was stupid and that they should be men instead. Gen X followed and did nothing except lament over our idiotic and absent parents. We didn’t fix the problem in our kids. We perpetuated it because our own insecurities made us rather spineless. Only a great catastrophe which costs millions of lives will reset us back to reality.
