Upgraded most of my stuff to AMD 5 platform. X670E-E board, 7900X3D and 6000 RAM. Kept hold of my 6950XT after considering both 4070Ti and 7900XT, glad I did. The performance I'm getting from the 6950XT in this newer build is even better than it was before. I dont game at 4k but have a 2k widescreen with a 165hz refresh and its silky smooth on ultra settings. Think I'll be waiting a while longer before i consider a new GPU. 6950XT is an excellent performer👍

7800xt is the King of the midrange of this generation. It even forced rare price cuts from Nvidia since they knew that there 4070 was taking a beating from it. Wish we had a Navi 32 equivalent to it in mobile, like a 7800m.. Right now we only have a 7900m with 72 CU that has about the same performance (maybe a bit more), but its roughly as expensive as the mobile 4080, albeit its faster.

Right now in the UK the cheapest 4070 is £539 and a 7800XT £507.. It's a no brainer which one to get. NV will have to drop the 4070 to £450 for it to be of equal value to me, which they would never do.

@@Ziplock9000 Yeh unironically if the 4070 is more expensive than the 7800xt, it's not the way to go unless one specifically needs Cuda. If its the same price or cheaper, then it becomes competitive. Got to give Amd props for making the $500 price range back to being a quality Gpu. Hopefully with Rdna 4 in less than a year they can bring that level of performance/vram to the ~$400 price range, which will grant even more people a solid upper midrange card that can last for years like the 7800xt provides.

Holding on to my 6950XT till next console generation. I know it uses more power but I have managed to under volt and -5 on the power slider, and get the same performance and cooler temps drawing under 300w. All in the tuning

if you make side by side comparison of graphic cards please run the same area in the game. On one side you stare the wall, on the other a lot of npcs.. its make no sense. :D Also to see settings will be nice.

Just bought a MSI 6950XT Gaming X Trio for $360 locally. Not a single issue with it, excellent condition and the retail box was included. I wasn’t even shopping for a GPU as my 6900XT Asus TUF is excellent. But at that price was worth buying and giving my son my 6900XT to pair with his new $260 7800X3D. It will push down his $200 6750xt and push out a 6600xt that I am selling for $180. 6900xt runs max 272 watts 6950xt runs max 330 watts

7800xt is the best 1440p gpu and 90% of game in 4k because of 16 g vram .

Sure. If you are buying new get a 5800x3d, otherwise the 5900x is fine.

Unless you want productivity of the 5900x I wouldn’t bother. I upgraded my 5600x to a 5900x and next to no gaming benefit. If building new get the 7600/b650 as it performs basically the same as a 5800x3D.

at 1440p you should be fine but at 1080p I would go for ryzen 7000, 5700x and 6950 xt user here myself

4070 ti will not get throttled. Yes its 12gb vram but its gddr6x which 15% more efficient than gddr6

Once you hit a VRAM wall, you will absolutely see a dramatic drop in performance. This is very easy to do at higher resolutions, especially with Ray tracing. Nvidia claims to be a retracing king, but they don’t allocate enough VRAM. This is why the new super model is going 16gb. Since the 4070ti is really a bad purchase with 12gb

Yes 16gb is good but the price will be very high on the 4070Ti super with 799$. Normal super variant of 4070 would be 599$ and go again with 12gb
