We spent the last few days exploring PALENQUE and the amazing jungle, waterfalls and eco parks surrounding it.
In this video, we have packed in 3 days fulls of adventure!
The goal of this video is that by the end of it, you will know exactly what you need to see & do for your trip to Palenque, Chiapas!
Day 1 : Palenque Ruins & Aluxes Eco Park
On day one, we jump on a local collectivo and head off to explore the ancient Palenque ruins. Then we follow it up with an amazing tour of the Aluxes Ecological Park.
Day 2 : Roberto Barrios Waterfalls
On day two, we head off to the INSANE Roberto Barrios waterfalls.. these will utterly blow you away with how beautifully blue the water is and also how wild the nature surrounding you will be while you swim under the rushing waters.
Day 3: Palenque Centro
Day three is a tour around the centre Palenque! Packed full of nice things to see & do while visiting the Palenque centro. We even visit a local market and show you our favourite place to get breakfast in the mornings!
Palenque is a city and municipality located in the north of the state of Chiapas, Mexico. This city was named almost 200 years before the nearby Mayan ruins were discovered in the 18th century. The area has a significant indigenous population, mostly of the Ch'ol people, of Mayan descent. The city is the only urban area in a municipality of over 600 communities, and is surrounded by rainforest. Deforestation has had dramatic effects on the local environment, with howler monkeys occasionally seen in the city as they seek food.
Palenque is the poorest major city in the state of Chiapas.

How about the mosquitoes over there in the jungle? Are you using any kind of mosquitoes repellent? Greetings from Canada.

We actually did not find the mosquitoes too bad in Palenque! Didn´t need any repellent!! They were a lot worse in places like Valladolid and Merida!! Luke & Naomi
