How would you do this in the free version of DR if your subject was moving closer to and then farther from the camera, while doing jumping jacks for example?

thanks a lot for another fantastic tutorial. You've added some essential information to what I already knew about masks and blur techniques...cheers from Hamburg !

Best explanation I've seen. Due to the nature of my films I only use a Gopro so this will be invaluable. Thank you so much!

I’ve been motion tracking in AE for a long time - interesting to see how Resolve handles it! I hope the AI trend makes its way into motion tracing to be even more content-aware.

Ya I hope it’ll get significantly better with AI too!!

you also do not need to add another node you can invert the mask at the pen tool and adjust the mask settings at the same time

Is this usually used when filming wasn't able to get the background as blurry as they wanted?
@AlliandWill Жыл бұрын
Yes, exactly!! It can help make the footage look for high end by separating the background form the foreground

Lens blur is not available in the free version? only studio
@Alpha_0ne2767 ай бұрын
Yeah that's what I was wondering, you have to use another type, such as gaussian blur

I used the first technique in my free version of the app, but when i made the blur overlay it said it was a paid feature, and now it has a huge watermark over my video :( Anyone know why? Thanks for the technique though it worked really well

When I used the first method, the end of the process for my blur background, I couldn't complete because not a paid version.... then watermark was over all my video.....

The tutorial is decent - but people should be aware that "P" is only doing full screen because you must have it programmed to do so under top menu - Davinci Resolve > Keyboard Preferences" - Some people might be clicking P and wondering why it doesn't go full page- I believe the default is Command-F

you can use the same procedure here using Gaussian blur for the free version of Resolve.

It's sad to see that a program as advanced as DR still doesn't automatically do cropping and background blurring... whereas in a program as basic as Capcut it's easier to do.
@AlliandWill6 ай бұрын
I agree that it would be nice to have that feature automated, however keep in mind that DaVinci is tailored to working professionals producing commercials and movies vs capcut which is tailored to content creators producing web content

Magic mask is a bit of a resource hog but does do the rotoscoping and quite well. Blurring should be a choice- all blurs can make a different look.
