Wing Chun is good, when I fought at my old mma school i would integrate some of the techniques with my mma style. When someone went in close fot knees or a takedown, i used wing chun to stun than switch to using a takedown and finish them off. People tend to underestimate this style but its very good if u know how to use it in your own way since everyone is different

Kev's Channel Hello Kev's Channel thank you for your words. I appericiate it, and it was hard work adapting Wing Chun techniques into my MMA style. I even threw off a professional MMA fighter from my old school that way he had no answer. In my opinion there is no good or bad styles just good or bad fighters. Some style take time to adapt but its very probable to do it. Right now I am working on adapt hapkido into my style. Tested it on two Muay thai fighters it did well some errors but its fine I have time. By the way Kev do you train in martial arts?

yea too much people think if your practising wing chun karrate or whatever you have to use it alone .....but thats wrong and ip man showed it to us he turned wing chun in a mma which consists of allot of thing taken from others combined to be the best starter base you can get what you do with it on the other hand is your thing
@Bastion838 жыл бұрын
too many people who practice this art focus on trying to make it look like the movies(pick one, there are many) but I've seen this art and this art alone do major damage when the principles are used correctly. Its not all chain punching and step n slide. I've said this many many times and I'm sure I'll say it many more before my body gives up and I tire of this life, its not the style, its the one using it. If you think older styles can't work in rl, you were taught by someone who didn't how to apply it or couldn't figure it out beyond what you were shown. One of my instructors said that most martial arts moves have at least 3 applications and thats the basic idea, not even getting into the truly odd stuff.
@林漢-i3g8 жыл бұрын
This is so true. Many people compare the ARTS, and think that the ART is bad. They haven't thought of that what really depends is USER not the ARTS. Everyone's different when it comes to fighting.
@joshhadada97728 жыл бұрын
only the best will focus on purely protection and eliminating the threat ASAP. not only that but atleast wing chun has atleast! 4 basics that will all defend and attack in majority of situations opposing.

+Bob smith have you seen wing chun in action? like stepped into a school to see if wing chun will work or not? I think before anyone says anything about another art, you should experience it first hand...mma tested or not.
@林漢-i3g8 жыл бұрын
Bob smith Why Wing Chun doesn't work versus MMA you think? First of all, Wing Chun was NOT a competitive fighting sport, and so isn't it even today. Second thing that is, Wing Chun roughly concentrates on ending the fight as soon as possible, not laying on the ground punching other guy until they go unconcious.

This will help the martial art technique for its promotion! I really liked the fight scene on the ring (at 1:02-1:15) it has shown us that it is truly possible to use Wing Chun on a real fight. You really have to be a good Martial artist for you to perform or fight using Wing Chun even if you are facing an MMA fighter. Sharing: I saw in ONE (if i got the title right) a Wu Shu practitioner how he used his discipline in the ring. He did not attack in opponent while on the ground (which by the way I hate so much especially the long grappling). At the end of the fight he won. I admire that guy for that

To the people who say wing chun doesn't work, it has something to offer therefore it works If a fist comes hurtling towards you full force and you're able to get a hand or arm in the way to block then it's worked. Or many similar scenarios. To say one art Or another doesn't work is to say martial arts don't work, they're all one and the same. They have been around for centuries and have been cross trained added to,detracted from. They borrow from each other. Principles and philosophies may fail but only the person fails the technique by poor choice of incorrect execution of it. Mmawhich most people agree works. Well what is it? The clue is in the name.
@siwal693 жыл бұрын
@Jean Claess'n you’re spot on with your analysis, MMA is good but it’s for young guys with lots of time on their hands I’ve done them all in my time and now I’m 52 can’t be flinging myself around anymore. Wing chun seems a logical next step
@UnleashedTraining1012 жыл бұрын
The people saying it doesn’t work are seeing it the wrong way. Of course those clean demonstrations won’t look even close to how it is in real life. And they think that’s how you’d fit for real. But it’s only clean for the purpose of demonstrating the moves. Someone that’s effective in wing Chun will look a lot more messy in a fight than they would on the mat.

Wing Chun is a very unique and scientific form of martial arts. Wing Chun is a style of Kung Fu that originates from China, the martial art was later refined in Hong Kong by the late Ip Man,and It is also a traditional Chinese martial art specializing in close range combat. ... In Wing Chun, defense and attack are in one synchronized movement. There are many different parts to the Wing Chun system. Learning this style of Kung Fu requires knowledge of Chi Sau, the hand form, the weapons and dummy forms and sparring.

Sometimes people said kung fu is useless in real fights ...... Let me tell you kung fu has been more than 1000 years of history ..... Is not about how many moves and forms you got , is about how much you train ..... If you got 100 style but you did not master it to the top youre just as useless as a person who knows ntg ..... Real kung fu takes life which is deadly unlike performing arts like wushu

I think it’s time we have the masters let us improve this art to preserve it better. Adapt it to suit the modern world. But that’s also up to the student’s creativity. Mixing this with Jiu jitsu, boxing, KFM, Krav Maga, Muay Thai, and Sistema can work with the wide variety of what you can work with. The arts come as the guidelines but the warrior is the is what makes it work.
@levimaynard22376 жыл бұрын
Wing Chun is fine as it is. If you want to practice various styles of martial arts that is not a problem, and doing so will be up to the practitioner. You are wrong though - we don't need to "have the masters" do jack shit. The art has been fine since the 1800's (its creation). There is nothing wrong with sticking with a single system if it works for you.
