One of my personal favorite arts is Lute. She has the textbook example of how Heroes' artwork improves character designs. The dress now has a patterned trim, there are matching emblems on her shoes and dress, the cape goes from a solid light blue to a blue gradient, and a bunch of accessories on her hair, shoes, chest, and arm sleeves. Not one part of her design feels overlooked during the upgrade.

When I saw Cormag in worst at the thumbnail I was really sad I love Cormag and I really love how the art potrayed his expressions and since his pixel art in Sacred stones wasent really that nice either One of my fave arts in the game which is weird for me to say since most characters gotten by Greils arent really some I often like exept for Maybe New Year Eir 10/10 I love the Eye bags lmao, he also had them in the pixel art too which I love for them to be back Some of my other favorites are Luthier, I live that shading and how the magic traces are drawn Summer Ashe, Baby Lyon, Ewan, etc. I just absolutely adore this artist, it makes the characters feel almost water color like its amazing Vanilla Marianne, I just love the Blue shades and glows from her ult, you can almost feel the Ice Tethys, She just looks amazing and I love her very very much ima plus 10 this woman just because of how much love I have for her Bridal Rafiel, he literally looks like he came down from the heavens to get married to Nilah, he is so soft and the light is such a joy to see I want this unit so bad ima cry Male Byleth, both his Vanilla and Mythic are amazing, my man looks cute and slic

Eirika. just... Eirika. her various heroes artworks made me fall in love with her even though i hadn't even played sacred stones at that point! my insane love for Eirika started around 4 months after her release in heroes and i only finished sacred stones for the first time yesterday so... i called her my favorite fire emblem character literally just because her art because she is just this beautiful! and now that i played sacred stones i love her even more!!! i don't care if people call her a mary sue or naive... she's great T-T i'd say my favorite version of Eirika is definitely the winter one i'm a huge sucker for christmas alts

Eirika is wonderful. For the longest time she was my fav FE lord since FE8 was my first FE game and to this day I do wish she got more love. I will say her art in Heroes has always been great, so graceful and beautiful regardless of version.

Oddly enough Ursula looking possessed still makes sense within the confines of Blazing Blade as Nergal and his morphs have been proved to be corrupting influences: -First Sonia managed to seduce Brendan and take-over the Black Fang from under his nose and use it for Nergal's benefit. -Then we have Marquess Darin whose sanity gets slowly more and more unhinged as the story progresses due to Ephidel pushing him over the edge. -Finally we have Jerme and Kenneth, a sadistic killer and former Four Fang, and a bishop that worships Nergal, working under the Black Fang. The kicker of these two is that Jerme probably was with the Fang before Sonia started corrupting it as he was replaced by Jaffar, and Pascal was imprisioned by Brendan for acting in equaly sadistic ways, meaning Jerme was probably tamer when he exerted his position of Four Fang, meanwhile both him and Kenneth appear as morphs in the last chapter and are rather happy when killed, which goes against Kenneth former characterization. This behaviour together with the fact both serve Nergal may indicate Nergal has corrupted this men for his gains. Now we have Ursula who pratically worships Sonia to a fault up until having her last wish being to deliver the report of her mission to Sonia, it wouldn't be outside the realm of possibilities that such behaviour was falt of Sonia's corrution. Taking into account how the men above ended, Ursula looking possessed as consequence of Sonia's corruption is a believeable outcome. But hey it's just a theory, an EMBLEM THEORY.

Deirdre, over the years, has become my favorite hero in my barracks. Her art is tremendous! And I dearly hope she will get a similar treatment to her daughter whenever Deirdre's resplendent gets released (though I doubt it can top her original art). She is the only +10 5* exclusive I currently have and I'm very happy about that!

I'm glad I'm not the only one who really like's Bantu's art. I'm also really thankful for Mustafa's heroes artwork getting rid of his thumb head from Awakening. I think my favorite artwork in the game is Nemesis, though. he looks incredibly threatening with his aggressive poses/facial expressions and piercing red pupils, and the art style really encapsulates the feeling of an old legend that's come back to life. I also really like the little details in his art, like the contrast of his mostly monochrome color palate with his glowing orange sword and aforementioned red eyes, and the movement of his hair and the spike ornaments on his waist during his attack, special, and damaged portraits.

Berkut was blessed with such great art. It made the days of trying to use him before his refine slightly less painful. His facial expressions and the detail on his armour are just so good. All three Berkuts look amazing but I have a soft spot for the original in particular. Probably because I've been using him for so long.

One of my absolute favorite pieces of art in feh has to go to Summer Ingrid. Sencha did an amazing job at practically everything with the work, in my opinion. From the incredible shading to her modest, yet quite lovely swimsuit, to her incredibly well detailed hair. And that's not even mentioning the beautiful water effects on her special animation.

There's a reason why Wada is deemed as the Queen of Fire Emblem, as well as the heir apparent to *Kaga* himself. What she did for the GBA series, especially Sacred Stones, made them a classic that is still close to the hearts of Fire Emblem fans to this day. Granted Binding Blade was still a bit of an oopsie (being the first FE title after Kaga left IS), Blazing Blade, the one after it is a solid traditional Fire Emblem game that a lot of veterans would immediately suggest to newcomers of the series.

Some of my favorite artworks are definitely Legendary Azura, Black Knight, Nemesis, Fallen Dimitri, all of Suzuki Rika's work, Summer Freyja, and Gatekeeper. Honestly a lot of the art in this game, combined with seeing characters I like being put in fun scenarios is what drove me to do my own theorycrafted banners from time to time.

I'll admit I came here due to the thumbnail putting Cormag's artwork on the "worst" side of the spectrum because Cormag's my boy and one of my favorite wyvern units of the FE games I've played (which is sadly not a lot). I have to respectfully disagree with some of your observations given some of Cormag's personality and lore. You mentioned the bags under his eyes being too over-the-top, but even in the sprite cutscene featured in the video, you can see he has very definitive shading under his eyes not present in most of the other characters; given that spritework (while an amazing art form) still has its limitations, it's not too crazy to think that Argon's artwork isn't far from a good visual style that compliments Cormag's raggedness. Cormag's crit and damage art having a fierce expression also isn't out-of-character for him, given that he's shown to have his moments of impulsiveness, like when Valter dumps Glen's body at Cormag's feet and tells him that Eirika killed him, Cormag doesn't hesitate to question Grado's exiled general when his own brother said he met Princess Eirika and found her to be kind and gentle. Or his outburst with Eirika when he first meets her. I apologize because I know I sound too nitpicky, but I feel like Cormag's artwork was a little unfairly judged. I've seen some of my favorites get some really underwhelming art (regular Lyon, Leon, and Libra all share the same artist who is... not good at expressive faces and has some very stiff posing) and when I saw Cormag's art, I was so happy that Argon gave him such vibrant facial expressions where some artists won't do much besides shifting the eyebrows and opening the mouth a little wider.

@@DivineSora01 Oh yeah, he's my favorite unit right up there with Garcia and Ross. It just kind of sucks seeing such great artwork get disparaged like that. I've always tried to be fair with most of the artists because at least 80% of the time it just boils down to style (though 20% of the time there really is other factors like anatomy, proportions, or expressions that can bring down a character's artwork). Cormag's whole schtick is that he's supposed to be a scary and deadly-looking guy but he's actually a brave man with a heart of gold- like his soft spot for kittens.

I can't quite say how much I love this video. The diversity of art styles and the abundance of S-Tier portraits is one of my very favourite things about FEH. The talk about color and lighting/shading, the meanings, etc., *perfect* . And it's only part 1! A like and a sub? You got it. My thoughts on the topic at hand? Here: Out of the (as of today, 23 of Sept., 2021) 141 artists in FEH, Asatani Tomoyo, Suzuki Rika, and Wada Sachiko must be my favourites. Clover.K is also very good and I love the work they did with FEdelgard. Yamada Akihiro's work, while not a favourite, is quite peculiar, because it displays an old-school colour pencil style, akin to those found in some illustrated books. The only thing that keeps their style from being a fave to me is that some details like Ogma's muscles seem askew and imo that style requires more anatomic precision. I disagree with Waltz Lachesis being an improvement, as she still looks too much like a child to me.

Welcome back. 15:30 seems like Berkut got number 1 again with one of your lists, and honestly it is amazing how Heroes was able to create the artwork for not just himself but Flame Rinea. Out of the artworks in Heroes, Idunn having 4 unique art poses for her unit makes her my personal best set of artworks in the game. If it wasn't for Heroes introducing Thracia characters I wouldn't want a remake as badly as I do. It's awesome that Heroes was able to help lesser known games get some spotlight. Also Reinheart to this day is still an irritating foe to face...his memes are also still funny.

I think the biggest problem with Miyu and Yamada is less about thier art and more that they just contrast too hard to the rest of the games style. The muted Arthurian fantasy look doesnt mix that well with the anime stuff. I think, especially Yamada, would be better recieved if they got to design a full cast for a new game or something like that so they would have the advantage of 1.not having a previous depiction to compare and 2.guaranteeing that everything fits together.

My favorite artists in the game include cuboon, Tomoyo Asatani, Sachiko Wada, HACCAN, HAKO, Kotaro Yamada (you can tell by my profile), Senri Kita, Yugo Okuma, Sencha, Mikuro, Clover K. (purely for Fallen Edelgard alone), Izuka Daisuke, teffish, Kakage, azu-taro and Rika Suzuki. (I reversed some of those names because I think Heroes kept it last name first name from the original Japanese and as someone from the United States, it feels more natural for me to say.)

I may be biased towards Minerva and Xane as they're both some of my favourite characters in the entire FE franchise, but their seasonal outfits are on point. Especially with Xane, I don't think they could've introduced him in a better way. And with Minerva... well there's a reason why Mayo is one of my favourite artists in FEH (Spring Palla being another example). I'm also very fond of L'Arachel's Halloween outfit and Fiora's summer outfit (her swimsuit is one of the best designed in all of FEH).

I really love the works of Enkyo Yuichiro (Lysithea, Soleil, etc) and Azu-Taro (Ewan, Summer Ashe, etc). Essentially I love the vibrant colors they use for their units. As far as most improved, I’d give that to Miwabe Sakura. Just compare both of her Lachesis drawings to see how much it improved.

It's weird. Miyuu (big eyes Eliwood and Athena) and Yamada (Ogma, Jagen, etc) are my _favorite_ artists. Perhaps I'm just contrarian and like to love artists who other people hate. But their art also gives me this old, worn feeling to it. Like something at an antique shop. It kinda looks like American artwork from the 50's or 60's, where lots of things would have that weird, grainy texture to them. It's not everyone's cup of tea, but I like that texturing. I'll admit this much; It doesn't really "fit" in Heroes. It would work better in a game like Octopath Traveler, where the art style is more rustic, and the colors more muted. But on their own, I love their work. I love soft and muted colors, grainy textures, and even the big eyes in Miyuu's art. I can understand some people being upset that their faves' artwork is uncanny, but I think it's better that we have options. I genuinely wish Miyuu came back to do more characters, big eyes and all. I want enough units with their artwork to make a full team out of. I'm currently working on a team consisting only of Yamada-drawn characters. Whatever you think of his art, you've gotta appreciate the fact he draws unique art for both the regular - and special - attack art. Miyyu actually does the same thing, but it's _reaaaaally_ tricky to tell! Plus, I hope we can all agree that Yamada's artwork for Gatekeeper is S+++ tier!

Harken and Fargus just recently made into Heroes and they both were given faithful translations of their original designs. Due to fine tuning here and there, they manage to look cool. Of course, it helps Harken already had very good looking armor to begin with. I also very much like that shield he comes with. As for Heroes Fargus; not only does he bring out the feel of a worthy captain, but also reminds of us why we like this guy in the first place. Also, it's just neat that it looks like he either has commanded some water to follow his axe or he swiped at water and made an actual impact with the the axe swing. By the way, Heather made her first appearance as a ninja. Ironically, it makes sense since ninjas are part of the thief family. I find her ninja design to look really nice, especially with the wind shuriken she has. That probably has to be the best thing about her design; it's a very neat shuriken. It lends to her looking like she's bursting at full speed in her special art. Not to mention her being partly the reason for Bridal Catria no longer being a terror. There's also Ninja Micaiah and Sanaki for that, but I feel their design in comparison is just mediocre. I like nearly any other Micaiah design better (except for the OG Heroes design) and with Sanaki I like her resplendent and winter designs more.

You talking about how Resplendent Alm's outfit is pretty boring and feels like a color swap is exactly why I don't like a lot of the Embla-themed Resplendents: They just feel like a colorswap, and...that's it. It happened with Tiki, Tailtiu, and now Shanna. I do like Embla Sanaki and Sophia, but the other Embla Resplendents...well, they're really boring.

Most of the Embla ones are playing it rather safe and often the best resplendents are from the different realms, book 4 has some fantastic resplendents.

@@BLAZINGKNIGHT50 Exactly! Book 4's Resplendents are absolutely stunning! We've got Eirika and Tana as you stated, Ljosalfheimr Celica, and even Dokkalfheimr Delthea (which you also stated) and Elincia. The Dokkalfheimr Resplendents have a nice detail where we can see what looks like eyes on their wings like a moth's, which is both creepy yet fitting with the "nightmare" vibe. Sure, we can beat that dead horse that is Resplendent Lucina, but despite the flaws in her art, I don't hate it like a lot of others do. I still like Resplendent Lucina quite a bit, but I CAN safely say her art is inferior compared to the other Book 4 Resplendents. Book 4 also has fantastic art for their original characters; the fairy vibe is so gorgeous and unlike anything ever seen in Fire Emblem, and I love Yoshiku as an artist for those OCs alone. My favorites are Mirabilis and Freyja for how jaw-droppingly beautiful they are. (plus, Mirabilis isn't overly sexy like Peony, Triandra, and Plumeria)

Yuji Himukai is one of my main inspirations for my artstyle, so I'm really glad they got mentioned in this video with Lugh, Raigh, Chad and Fae. I believe that gen 1 feh art is the reason why they made resplendents a thing especially when you compare it to new units now killing cipher really increased the budget for feh (also a lot of the new artists drew for cipher)

For best, I'd say Summer Tana and Fallen Berkut. Idunn and Resplendent Amelia for having incredible special attack arts specifically. For worst, I'd say classic Olivia and Rebecca. Please get these units some resplendents. Oh, and Resplendent Lucina, but we don't talk about her. This video makes me think a best voice acting follow up could work well at some point. Looking at you, L'arachel and Gharnef.

Ah, Heroes.It's been a long time since I've played it (stopped around when Duo Units were introduced), but I do occasionally check on Nintendo Mobile's YT channel to see who's been added. I loved playing it at first, but the Power Creep got too immense, the game was becoming way too complex for me to grasp, and the noticeably short supply of Orbs obtainable without microtransactions (paired with my apparently dreadful luck) left me completely marooned. Also, I discovered a different mobile game via its crossover with FEH, Dragalia Lost, which is way too good for the platform it's on. Compelling stories, a killer soundtrack, a lot more generous with summoning materials, engaging gameplay and very few non-limited characters that are better than everyone else by miles ever since it introduced a new mechanic that completely flipped the meta.

To be honest- Heroes has been more generous with the summons as of late. Wyrmite is becoming much more scarce than orbs. I’ll gladly admit the writing in general is miles better, but in terms of summons, no.

As for least favorites; Lachesis (standard; while the cutesy look may fit Est in my eyes, it looks way too jarring for Lachesis), Llyod (standard; the biggest disaster in Heroes even to this day), Ursula (standard; thanks alot to the artist that forgot that as beautiful as she may be, she's also rather threatening as well), Brunnya (standard; goodbye to her ominous general look), Ogma (standard; there's something seriously wrong with his arms), Jegan (standard; he's usually supposed to look cool in his ole age, but this design is quite bad), Miyuu Athena and Eliwood (while there is effort put into their designs, the faces ultimately ruin things), Saber (standard; similar case with Miyuu Athena and Eliwood), Rebecca (standard; just like with Saber), and Gwen (standard; she may not be a great unit, but she deserves better).

My personal gripe is mostly with the Awakening cast. While soem look absolutely great (Frederick), alot look.. mangy at best (Chrom, srsly, he looks half as wide as he should be). :/
