I don’t understand the argument for Bivol winning? On his back foot all fight, took the more damaging shots, produced 10 seconds flurries between having his gloves up and circling away from Beterbiev each round, and landed no damaging shots. I had it 115/113 Beterbiev and think the right man won.

Not a robbery by any means , it was a great fight, I had bivol by a round I liked the cleaner work. I felt beterbiev was very aggressive but apart from round 8 (may have been 7) and the last 3 I felt he didn't really land much / use aggression effectively, I went with the cleaner crisp work of bivol, but can see both the draw and the 15-13 in favour of beterbiev too

Beterbiev was the clear agressor in this fight. He dealt far more damage, applied more pressure, threw more & harder punches and was less shook than Bivol. The majority of replays were highlights of Bivol even though Beterbiev in the 11th and rounds before, threw far more destructive punches towards the face and especially the body (which were simply not shown). Beterbiev won that fight. Bivol should have done more, especially in the last 2 rounds.

Small counters for 10 seconds a round doesn't equate to a win even if it is eyecatching. Beterbiev done enough in enough rounds to win that fight in my opinion. For those people saying that the reason Bivol is marked up is because his glove was hitting his face, do me a favour lol. He waited for Beterbiev to get to 40 years old and still couldn't beat him. Tried to wait him out as Canelo done to Golovkin. Well done Beterbiev. Retire and sail off into the distance, you achieved your dream. Couldn't happen to a classier gentleman.

Damage only counts if the fighter makes the opponent visibly wobble or knocks them down. Bruises aren’t a objective indicator of damage. Some people bruise easily with jabs and some people are black.

Even on Sky Sports commentators were biased for Bivol. The replays showing only Bivols shots. I like both Bivol and Beterbiev but at least be fair to Beterbiev. I thought it was a draw. Power punches, ring generalship, forward foot all go to Beterbiev and thats probably what won it. Those last 2 rounds were likely the decider.

Strange comment by commentators saying punches on the gloves mean nothing when even Bivol admitted tonight that the powerful punches thrown by Beterbiev compressed Bivol's hands against his face and eye which then created bruising under Bivol's left eye. Those punches would have also hurt Bivol's hands and arms. And then some of the punches delivered by Beterbiev also managed to escape Bivol's guard; also contributing to the bruising under his eye. From round 5 onwards, Beterbiev kept turning up the pressure dial, hunting Bivol down. I personally find it boring when one fighter constantly moves forward whilst the other one fights on the back foot. In the last few rounds, despite Bivol being 6 years younger than Beterbiev, he seemed exhausted with little fuel in his tank and the fight became a one-sided affair with Bivol unresponsive to Beterbiev's punches; most likely because of muscle soreness and pain. The predictions were biased towards Bivol from the start. Then the live commentaries felt biased towards Bivol too. Finally, the replay clips showed Bivol's shots only as if Beterbiev had thrown no punches at all. Terribly weird.

Bivol was doing good the first few rounds. However, later on and the championship rounds Bivol was just scooting around the ring with his guard up whilst Beterbiev was throwing punches for longer period of time. Bivol’s punches were short bursts. Beterbiev by one/two points. Bivol only beat Canelo on split decision and Beterbiev’s performance was way better than Canelo.

It is almost maddening to see how many boxing “fans” are oblivious to how fights are SUPPOSED to be scored by the official judges. It seems even the official judges just make up their own rules as they go along as well. Take a drink for every time in the comments here that you see someone saying Beterbiev was more aggressive so he deserves the win, Bivol has more damage on his face so he lost, or Bivol kept his gloves up and his punches were not as hard as Beterbiev’s so he lost. I must warn you, you will probably succumb to alcohol poisoning though. So you realize boxing is scored round by round. You cant just say it was an even fight but Bivol has more visible damage so I give it to Beterbiev. How would that work scoring round by round? Damage is only able to be scored in the case of a knockdown or knockout. Also, who says ineffective aggression should outweigh defense? Definitely not the official rules. You complain that Bivol blocked punches? And you automatically gauge aggression as more representative of ring generalship than Bivol moving around, avoiding the aggression, throwing punches when he could and landing them, and blocking the attacks of Beterbiev? How? Why?

Close fight but i think Bivol needed more in the championship rounds he has had a tendancy to coast in the past and i think it came back to bite him in the backside. It was close going into the championship rounds and betebriev did more i dont think this was a terrible decision tbh althoughy we do get bad decisions in boxing this was not one imo. Watching it live i had Bivol winning the first 3 then Beterbiev winning the next 3 i thought 7-9 were close and Betebriev won 10-12. Bivol dominated the 1st half, Artur dominated the 2nd half, I called it a draw, but either could win by a round or 2. The 4 round judge was miles off. If you're seeing Bivol dominate that fight all night, maybe you're someone that wanted Bivol to win and any 50/50 rounds you gave to the guy you wanted to win. That's why so many fans are miles off. If your basing the scores on playing touch n run then Bivol had the edge. He got some excellent flurries in but thats it. Beterbiev was untroubled, dished out shots that rocked Bivol and cutting off escape routes all night long. I have massive respect for Bivol and saw it as either a draw or BBV edging it on the last 2 rounds. If thats not convincing lets look at both boxers faces in the morning.

Bivols tactic of taking the round of n running back cost him. But I understand why he had to be on his bike n box. It was cuz of beterbievs power n precision. Bivol started well but then he let beterbiev dictate n be the aggressor. Beterbiev was landing alot through the gloves. Can't believe how good he is at 39. The right man won. It was a quality fight

Had Bivol up 5-1 after 6 rounds and 8-4 Bivol after 12. Beterbiev’s flurry of punches equated to 75% of his total punch total and they happened in 3 maybe 4 rounds. How 1 judge had Bivol winning only 4 rounds I don’t know smh

Absolutely never close to a draw. Beterbiev won arguably every round after the 3rd. Bivol clung on, ran, threw desperate combinations and covered up for 90% of the fight. There is absolutely 0% chance that Bivol truly believes he won that.

It's like saying Artur only wins if he knocks out Bivol. Or saying Bivol wins if it gets to a decision. But a neutral viewer will first admit to how close this fight was and how damaging and purposeful Arturs work was in there. This was so much like Usyk Fury without the round 9 corker. Kudos to Bivol for taking away Arturs knockout streak, and Kudos to Artur for taking away Bivols 0. Will definitely want a 2nd fight but at 40 we will not be getting prime Beterbiev

If you actually look at the round by round scorecards - you can’t argue with the judges - the judge that gave it 116-112 differed with the judges on rounds 4 and 7 (round 4 was deffo a Betterbiev round - even the commentators said it - they actually said that was betterbievs best round) - yet the judges that had it a draw and 115-112 gave that round to Bivol - the other round was round 7 - watching it back that could have gone to either fighter but that round even I felt was a betterbiev round (up until last 20 seconds it was pretty even maybe bivol slightly edging it but then last 20secs bivol looked gassed and betterbiev was all over him and took that round)

I had Bivol winning the fight, based on what he actually landed - the data showed it. But, this means to me he’d have to stop Beterbiev to beat him - and he doesn’t have the power. As for the pundits saying there was a “feeling Beterviev was hunting him” etc etc - that doesn’t score points as far as I know?!
