One thing I noticed watching you react was your appreciation for Beth's phrasing! the jazz musician and you couldn't help but take notice of her mastery of it. She "owns" a song when performing and her nuances bring something original to any song she covers. Two songs from her Paradiso performance worth reacting to are "Mama" & "Am I The One". Live from Royal Albert hall, "Caught Out In The Rain" is a classic live performance by Beth Hart, as well. A soul classic performed by Beth Hart and Joe Bonamassa, live at Beacon theater is, "I'll Take Care of You".

You owe it to yourself to hear Etta James do her rendition of "I'd Rather Go Blind" Beth does it justice, but nobody did it like Etta. Etta James' cover of "Piece Of My Heart" and Janis's cover of "Tell Mama" are two of America's greatest voices in Blues giving each other their props.

I usually prefer originals over covers but to be completely honest, I love Beth’s version a whole lot better...hell I’m still debating on if I like Heart’s Stairway to heaven over Zeppelin’s....as a matter of fact, I even prefer Beyoncé’s version over Etta’s in Cadillac Records.
