Thank you for this reaction, Beth. After all, Ronnie James was called Dio for a reason. He wasn't just a master singer, he was also a fantastic human being. He had that rare talent, he knew how to touch people's souls with his voice and lyrics. PS. the "horns" sign was used in Italy to ward off evil spirits. At least, that's what I've heard.

First of all, I looove Dio. He is the best! Second of all, I love all of the space in this song-space for guitar solos, space for crowd interactions, space for vocal ornamentations, space for drum grooves-space for the song to just exist! That’s something we don’t see in modern pop songs.

@@alanheyes694 What flowers? The money? Lol. I don't know if I have a favorite line from songs but another good one is from Evanescence song called Hello where she sings "Don't try to fix me I'm not broken." Simple but sad because it's about her little sister that passed away at only 5. When Lee was a teen, it was only then she realized she'd never really grieved for her little sister when she passed away and when she asked her parents and they told her they didn't want to hurt her by the loss, so they gave her space, but she was only 9 when her sister died so she didn't have the perceptive that she did when she was older. So she thought "I'm not broken" and then immediately after she thought it, she wrote it down. It's those kinds of deep lyrics that might seem simple but are actually deeper. A lot of Dio lyrics were like that.

Huge Dio fan here. I'm a bit older, and was lucky enough to see Dio Live a few times, and even met him at a show. when he passed in 2010, it left a hole in my heart. Most of my favorite Sabbath songs are with Ronnie, not Ozzy. A few years ago this small, barely known band of youngsters named Liliac, came out of nowhere. I swear, Dio's soul returned to earth and resides with in Melody, the lead singer. She embodies everything about him, with vocal inflection and stage presence. She has even admitted Dio is her main influence. They filled the void in my heart. They have plenty of original music, but they have also covered many Dio songs. The latest was for the Dio Cancer Fundraiser, and they paid homage by covering an extended length version of "The Last in Line". Beth, it really is a must see for you. You will be Gobsmacked listening to Melody belt out Dio's classics! 🤘

I first saw Ronnie with Rainbow in the 70's, the last in the 90's...I must say that his voice seemed to lose very little over the years. Certainly, something that he was gifted with that all of us got to enjoy. I met him twice after shows. Banging on the tour bus door back in the 80's lol. And, he answered the knock himself. He took the time to chat with my friends and myself for almost 30 minutes both times. Just very kind, approachable, and appreciative of his fans. We lost a GOOD-UN in Ronnie. RIP my brother.

When Dio says he never had any vocal training i definately believe him, i have been a huge fan since the 80´s and have never known him to be a liar. The man deserves every ounce of it of course, and it's awesome to see musically educated people such as yourself, who truly respect talent and hard work , give him his due. The guy may have not had formal training but clearly he is an icon and a standout talent who's Legacy endures. This incarnation of Black Sabbath at a totally different vibe then their previous efforts with Ozzy. Both lineups are legendary of course. Ozzy had an innate ability to deliver a lyric and make you pay attention. Not to say he couldn't sing well, when he was on, he was on. But deal took their band in a much darker and yet more sophisticated Direction. Cheers for covering this year of Sabbath my dear, really really great to see this.

7:00 That's one of the reasons why Dio for me is the best vocalist in the history of rock and maybe even music; This singer is a true virtuoso of singing, look at the amount of control and extreme mastery he had over his voice as he sustains that very resonant C5 in a chest voice in a very controlled and effortless way, no other vocalist I know can sustain a note as high as this one in that register with that absurd ease, impressive the control and dominion that Dio had over his instrument.

6:43 Maybe I'm wrong but I think he sustained a C#5 for 6 seconds in chest voice without any effort here; It's incredible how easily he was sustaining a note in the third octave, I hadn't noticed that before.

"The world is full of Kings and Queens. Who blind your eyes and steal your dreams" This is so current... Thank you Dio for being part of the soundtrack of my life. We will never forget you.

Notice the guitarist, Tony Iommi, is using finger tip prosthetics. An accident in factory cut off the tips of his fingers. So he created his own tips and can still play. Ronnie was a RNR singer in the 1950/60's era. Check out "Ronnie Dio & The Red Caps" performing "Send me a ln Angel"

10:25, ohhh yes you are. Of course you are qualified to talk about sounds, playing is besides the part. I´ve come to really appreciate that keen ear of yours. Analizing and explainging technique in a very relatable way is not at all easy. An aware and open eared coach is a gem!.

Beeings like Ronnie bring the birth of theatre and orchestral music back to life in a marvelous evolved way that is just amazing. I can almost hear or feel a statement before every verse, "Now hear me!, the story goes like this!" Musical literature!

Dio is a master vocal talent, his voice and range are amazing. From elf, rainbow, sabbath and solo, Dio was one of the greatest vocalists of all time. I think the Dio years with Black Sabbath was the best vocalist they had and this song was one of their best. Dio can sing anything.

All my favorite Sabbath songs (I love most of their music) are the ones who have the Devils Tritone or Tritone interval. The Tritone came from Classical music I believe and it is great to learn that Rock music, even Heavy Metal. It has been so much fun the last 4 years or so seeing how much R&R is influenced by Classical music. And, Tony on guitar lost 2, I think 2) of his fingertips on his right hand and originally fashioned artificial ones himself. Incredible! Loved your reaction!

Actually you are quite right about his hand gesture :D His grandma was Italian and she was using it to ward off evil spirits, then later it became a symbol of rock and metal :D Also before he joined Rainbow and later Sabbath, he had some other bands he was singing in blues/jazz style. There are some of those recordings on youtube.

Ronnie James Dio was a trained opera singer. But he is also a very natural gifted singer. And you are very observent and have a great understanding of music. And you have a very unique way of explaining to your viewers what it is that they are listening to that is very simplistic. Keep doing what you do,it's nice to see someone have such an appreciation and understanding of good music. You have a wonderful skill yourself. Much appreciated.

He was singing way back in the late 50's as a teenager and just continued throughout all the genre's of rock. He attained perfection through time.
