Out cruising around our neighborhood I see. Happy to see you back in a 6.7 Miss seeing the beast mods State hill is not a fun one at all. especially pulling a heavy load. I recently pulled 32,000 pounds of logs up over rt 897 Welsh mountain With my 2008 dodge ram mega cab duly with a 30 foot 2020 PJ gooseneck That was a mile stone for me because I personally rebuilt my 68rfe

Ever haul anything up the 30 hill by the diner? Curious what gear, rpm, and mph you can pull with those tunes. I’ll have to pay more attention next time I’m on the way home from the buck with my 12k truck and trailer behind my stock ‘19 but it’s definitely working
@maxboya2 жыл бұрын
I got one on my 2021. I got the race tune on most days but can’t run it for long cause it starts to really cook the canister. Gotta monitor it. If I leave it on race, my limiter is removed so It’ll do 150mph+ Raced a Chevy SS, caught up to him and pulled on him. The regens come on very frequently as compared to when it was stock. I still have my DEF all intact. It definitely runs through DEF more. But I own a business so all of it gets written off anyways.

Without the SOTF switch can you still switch tunes on the fly via the app or do you have to turn the truck off and download each tune separately as you want to change them
@gutierrezc87092 жыл бұрын
Does the Tuner have the option to manually start a Regen whenever you want? I would run out and buy a tuner if it could do that. My truck only wants to regen when I'm driving in the city. It never wants to go into Regen when I'm on a long highway stretch.

I use my '19 Cummins HO to tow a 44' flatbed commercially. If I did the tunes can I continue to tow as usual while the transmission goes through the re learning process ???
@BEASTProjects4 жыл бұрын
Good question, I’m not sure... I would at the very least drive it w/o trailering at 30/50% throttle for 30 miles, shifting through all 6 gears as much as possible (stop n go).

@@BEASTProjects Thanks man
@monsterram66174 жыл бұрын
@@XSteele If you are flashing the PCM then you need to do a full drive-learn every time. They take 1-2 weeks and about 250 miles of 1-6 and 6-1 shifts; the first half at under 30% accelerator position and the last half at under 50% accelerator position, *unloaded.* If you're unable to dedicate time away from working the truck to do drive-learns I'd recommend keeping it stock. Otherwise you're in for an expensive lesson on the 68rfe.
@XSteele4 жыл бұрын
@@monsterram6617 1 - 2 weeks ?? I drive 700 - 800 miles a day. Od have to alot a day for the install than do the 250 mile relearning trip the following day before hooking the trailer back up and having to be back on the road. You think that is doable ???
@monsterram66174 жыл бұрын
@@XSteele Unfortunately it cannot be done in one sitting because part of the drive-learn process are multiple heat cycles. Meaning that the engine and trans must go from ambient, to operating temp, and then back to ambient temp several times during the process. The reason for all of this is because the 68rfe "learns" while you drive by constantly checking clutch values against previous ones in order to achieve smooth shifts. It also impacts how much clutch pressure is applied while shifting. When a new tune is flashed into the PCM, these values (CVIs) are cleared and reset back to the factory baseline. So a drive-learn must be performed to reestablish these values. If this isn't done and the trans sees power or hard acceleration before the CVIs have been fully restored, you will slip a clutch and the trans will fail. I'm going to post what RevMax recommends for a drive-learn just so there's no confusion about the process since it's rather in-depth: *Initial Drive Learn Process * (this must be done on the lowest power setting) Note: Drive learning process will take anywhere from 1-2 weeks. Towing, hauling and or rough driving cannot be done during this time! Take the vehicle out for the initial test drive; do not exceed 30% pedal position or 2000 RPM. Allow transmission to shift all the way up to sixth gear AND back down to first *at least 25 times.* If full power is given, immediate transmission failure will occur. For the next step, you must keep pedal position below 50% at all times. Drive the vehicle for *a MINIMUM of 3 days.* The truck must be allowed to rest overnight and go from HOT to COLD engine and transmission temperatures. During this time period it is best to have a MINIMUM of 200 miles STOP AND GO driving. Highway driving does not count and will not drive learn the transmission.

Thanks for the update! I just purchased a 2019 3500 DRW that had 33K on it. Have already put almost 1k miles on it in just over a week and have not had a regen as of yet. Have you noticed the tuning affect the build up in the DPF or caused any extra regen's? When I bought my 09 2500 I started out with Edge before I did the delete and that stinking thing was doing regen's on a regular basis. Part of why I did the delete eventually.

I am not sure if you monitor it or not but have you seen a increase in DPF regens with the CCT Tuneing since it’s emissions in tact I am very interested in this tuning because of what you can do down the road if you want to change it I’m just wondering if the emissions in tact is affecting the DPF my truck is currently stock but I have a edge CTS two and my regenerations are between 700 to 800 miles right now

Steve, out of curiosity being a LEO what’s your opinion on emissions off trucks/tuning? I always worry about getting pegged by the law for it.
@BEASTProjects3 жыл бұрын
I’m retired now... Some things to note, every state has different emission standards. I would be more concerned w/ the federal regulations & enforcement than local at this point. There’s definitely a push for more electric vehicles as seen w/ major manufacturers making more models of them. So who knows what the future will bring.
