Nice work. Surprised no one has offered a modded airbox for sale yet. One that is less retrictive and taped already.

I have seen some people advertise on social media they will do it for a large fee.

@@MantisRacing I like how you did yours, removing the floor and ramping up the angle almost like a ram air effect. More direct and purposeful. I am not racing so I am unsure if I would ever spend time on this mod. But if you can attest to lower street temps on daily riding, please share your experiences.

@@GR8WHITEC5 as I get older I care less about horsepower and more about bike feel. Brakes, suspension, and ergonomics will make you faster than a mod with a few horsepower. The good thing about this mod is it is a do it and forget it mod. It helps with throttle response and with higher speeds not attained safely on most streets. For a street bike I'm not even sure I would change the stock air filter at this point. I wouldn't rule out the mod either. It is all about priority and preference. Thanks for commenting. Do you have a gen4 ZX10?

@@MantisRacing Thanks for the info. All that trouble to tidy up the airbox has to be for something. Lower temps, better throttle response, etc. I am curious because my buddy did this and says it keeps temps down. I seen EJR preparing this on Warrens ZX10R. So, I figure the more info I gather, the more informed a decision I could make. Looks like a very time consuming process. Just imagine if someone could use some type of spray on coating vs taping it up. Tge time you could save. I have a 2017 ZX-10RR. I have plenty of questions regarding Qoolich but asking questions via Email sucks. I'd prefer an 800-NUMBER so I can actually speak with someone.

It only reflects heat if light is applied on it. However aluminum is better at dissipating heat than lets say copper which is better at absorbing heat. All these mods make might give it better horsepower but it is not noticable. So just add it to the other theoretical mods you have on your list and maybe that will make a difference in a photo finish race.

Making the airbox smooth on the inside removing the restrictions. Did this mod make a difference?

yes, it makes a difference on the 11+ Zx10.

@@MantisRacing my zx10 airbox is taped already. Just wanted to know if i removed that restriction on inside would it make even more power?
@MantisRacing3 жыл бұрын
Yes, but do it with a spare. Search how others have done it as well. It helps as speed increases.

Hey what’s up I watch the video of you modifying the airbox for the 2011 Kawasaki ninja ZX10R this is a mod that I would like to try to do to my Zx10R But I would like to know what type of material did you use to cover up the hole that you made into the airbox.

plastic, part 1 shows it uncovered.
