The Lindell is backwards to the original 1176 with attack and release times... 7 is slow and 1 is fast on the Lindell. Thus not being able to reproduce the plugins and Lindell is not a surprise seeing the attack and release times are totally opposite in the video even though the knobs are looking similar in location.

Correct, lindell is backwards , or, normal, which confused the heck out of me at first. ;-) But even with those backward dials, I wasnt able to reproduce it.

I picked one of these up earlier this week. Been using bombfactory 76 in protools for like 15 years. Its so refreshing having a physical one. You can push it and get siiick snare sounds with this thing that ive never been able to in the box Admittedly, ive only put snare through it so far. But it rocks

you can work in pair of 2 for mastering also?

Yeah you can, only thing is that in mastering youi really want left and right side to be identical. No guarantee that two of these units will be turly matched for that. In mid side you could with less isses. But then, a 1176 for mastering?

Wow I was expecting a bigger price than this. Sounds great - a decent compressor for the money and makes it worth considering hardware.

@@audiotoolshed I think modern plug-ins can definitely model the sound of physical gear but getting the "feel" right would be tough. Each piece of gear has it's own personality, as such, and how an engineer uses it just adds to that particular effect. We all have that piece of gear that works "just so" and we know how to get the most from it.
