A lot of oily skin comes from the lack of moisture. With the lack of moisture the oil glands then OVER compensate creating oily issues.

This is true. I have super oily skin and weirdly enough after switching to products formulated for dry skin, my sebum production balanced out. Keeping it super hydrated actually made me less oily.

I was very oily when younger and I found the LESS I messed with my skin, the calmer and less oily it was. I only splash with warm water in the morning and keep evening cleansing very gentle and oil- based. Much calmer skin situation.

Have you tried out the mushroom head foundation thing? Idk what it's really called!! Tati did a video on it and she liked it, but I'm like you with the oily skin and want to hear what you think about it!

Personally I prefer to use pore-filling primers just on areas of my face that have large pores. For me this is just my inner cheeks, close to my nose. I just take a tiny amount and press it into my pores, essentially filling them in. Then I use a different primer for oil control on the rest of my face. Primers that are Dimethicone-heavy can be good for an all-over smooth canvas, but us oily girls don't really get along with it too well. But for filling pores I love it, and I notice a difference when applying makeup. The primer fills the pores and makeup makes them disappear, hooray!

I was watching this review even though I don't use primer, because I feel comforted with your voice. I was talking to my girls as I sew. I turned aroud because I didn't hear any answer. Then I saw both girls sleeping. I called my eldest's name, and she sort of woke up and said "Sorry mom. The voice is so relaxing and makes me feel comforted", then she closed her eyes again and I don't have the heart to wake them up. So I learn about primers while I sew. ☺️

Cassie I’ve been watching you for so long and I love your videos. I just want to reccomend a primer that I use and absolutely love. I have the same oily skin as you and this helps me a lot. It’s the catrice hydro primer! It feels like your skin is drinking water it’s so good and cheap from ulta! you should give it a try.

Omg, that combo with the Covergirl foundation and moisturizing primers looks hella good on your skin! You usually look so cakey because of the huge amount of product you use but that combo, girl, your skin looks young and pretty!

I love the porefeasional only because it sits over top of make up so well. I like to use it under my eyes after a long day of creasing in any area of the face where make up broke apart, for a freshen up. It’s perfect for this 👌🏻

How does someone with oily skin have such a dry surface? It’s more likely you’re eating something you’re allergic too or using the wrong products and treating your skin as though it’s oily when in reality extremely dehydrated and over producing oil to Compensate the fact you’re stripping the life out of it because of a few pimples which are also probably caused by poor diet and product choices. I could have your skin looking AMAZING in two/three months. You’re also using the wrong foundations and definitely the wrong colour .you looked ashy as hell

It is so weird all the oily people I watch / know got the hydrating primer and all the dry skin got the regular. My daughter is oily and she got the hydrating one as well. I have super dry skin and got the regular in both my boxes

I would never use a primer on broken skin. In fact, when I do use a primer on intact skin, I find I get little clogged pores if I leave my makeup on all day. Suggest a soothing coat of something like dr. Jart cicapair under makeup and then a mineral foundation like bare minerals. A whole channel of soothing, non acnegenic makeup would be awesome. Very useful and I’m sure popular too.

I tried the original Porefessional and didn't get on with it- I've got dry skin -so I wonder if this might do the job? I get especially dry on my nose and I struggle to keep my foundation in place.

I got the hydrate primer in my April boxy charm premium, I have normal skim type and my forehead just soaked up that hydrating primer I had to use more product for the rest of my face. I didn't like that. I feel I shouldn't have to apply more product especially a $30-$35 primer to give me full coverage.

That's too bad it didn't work because when you first applied it, especially to your nose, I could really see the difference. My mouth dropped cause I saw no pores on your right nostril. I've never used their face primers. Now I know I don't need to bother. Its just frustrating when a company makes a claim on a product that doesn't live up to said claim... 🙄

I hated the original one because it dried my skin out so badly, made my face look crusty and started to peel off my face, alongside it becoming so cakey on my face, it was just horrible ... and I have OILY SKIN... I'd be happy to try the hydrating version though; I feel like a lot of people love it, but I guess it just wasn't for me

If you haven't tried it already, the Tarte Sea Quench hydrating primer is really great. I can't say how it works for liquid or cream foundations, but it's perfect for powder foundation. And great for oily/combo skin. Silicone free and water-based. I'm interested in that Ciate hydrating primer now.
