Great reaction to a great movie! Judge Reinhold (Billy) was a staple of the '80s and early '90s. The last thing I remember seeing him in was an episode of Seinfeld, where he played the close talker. The film everyone remembers him for, though, is Fast Times at Ridgemont High, which is a quintessential, must-see '80s movie that made Sean Penn a household name. And if you look hard, you'll also see a young unknown named Nicholas Cage. Definitely add it to your list. Keep up the great work!

Eddie Murphy was amazing back in the 80’s, especially with the Beverly Hills Cop movies. The action, the comedy, the music, the pacing of the film. Yes, that was Bronson Pinchot from Perfect Strangers as Serge, apparently his going to be in the 4th Beverly Hills Cop movie that is being filmed. One part of the movie I also found funny was the “subtle” product placement during the truck chase at the beginning with the bus spin so you can read that WDRQ93 FM is the place for continuous music. I found the station online, they used to play pop and rock music, now it’s a country station, but that’s fine, I like country music.

I love that AXL F song to this day. I used to call in to the radio station and request it multiple times a day. Lol. Funny thing though, since it was before the internet, i always thought this was a Glen Frey song because I’d heard that he was on the BHC soundtrack. Why did it matter to me? Judge Reinhold (Billy Rosewood) did, in fact, play a stoner in the 1981 movie Stripes. Bill Murray and Harold Ramis play two losers who join the Army because they have nothing better to do. Reinhold plays one of their fellow enlistees. You'd like the movie. Warren Oates plays the drill sergeant, John Larroquette (Night Court) is the commanding officer, and the late, great John Candy is another enlistee, a shameless con man and completely hilarious.

I absolutely love this movie. I have for years. The only thing that I really don't like is the bad guy is sneaking around the house, and he has to chamber a round right before he fires, which of course gives us that "chick-chick-BOOM" sound, but always gives Axel a chance to scurry away before getting shot. Eddie Murphy at his very best. Nothing holds a candle to this. Although he has done a few other good movies and bits, this movie is what I think of when I think of Eddie.

The balding guy who helps out Axel in the warehouse can be seen in My Cousin Vinny as the guy who cheats Lisa out of money. Axel’s friend in Detroit is actor Paul Reiser Emmy winner from the tv series Mad About You. The Beverly Hills Captain played by Ronny Cox was also in the original Total Recall and Deliverance with Jon Voight and Burt Reynolds. Judge Reinhold was also quite funny in the Seinfeld episode about being attached to Jerry’s parents. The character who played Jenny Lisa Eilbacher was in the cult classic Charles Bronson serial killer film 10 to Midnight which I highly recommend for a review! Netflix is putting into production Beverly Hills Cop: Axel Foley bring back Judge, his cop friend, Paul Reiser, and Bronson Pinchot too! BHC 2 is quite fun too and lots of action.

I'm trying to figure you guys out, but I haven't yet. But it's cool. You fuck up a perfectly good lie." Fun Fact: Eddie Murphy, John Ashton, and Judge Reinhold improvised most of their comic lines. Literally hundreds of takes were ruined by cast members, actors or the director laughing during shooting. During the "super-cops" monologue, Ashton is pinching his face hard and looking down in apparent frustration. He is actually laughing. Reinhold put his hand in his pocket and pinched his thigh really hard, trying to prevent himself from laughing. Projection Headline Fact: During his tirade at the Beverly Palms Hotel, Axel pretends to be writing an article called "Michael Jackson: Sitting On Top Of The World" for Rolling Stone magazine. In real life, Playboy ran an Eddie Murphy article with the same "Sitting On Top Of The World" subtitle. Double Assault Fact: The mansion used in the final shootout between Foley and Maitland (the former Harold Lloyd estate in Beverly Hills) is the same mansion seen in the final shootout between Matrix and Arius in Commando (1985). Coincidentally, both Foley and Matrix were trying to rescue somebody named Jenny in that mansion in their respective films.

Wow, I love all these facts! I'm not shocked that lines were improvised. I guess that's why everything seemed so playful and natural. I need to seek out some outtakes.

Absolutely love this movie but I will say Beverly Hills Cop 2 is my favorite! Eddie Murphy is great and you definitely need to watch Coming to America, it's a classic 80s film and shows Eddie and Aresino's range/characters! Seeing Damon Wayans reminded me of I'm Gonna Git You Sucka, it's a Keenan Ivory Wayans movie based on the blaxploitation films of the 70s, it's hilarious and underrated for a Wayans movie. I really do love this channel and enjoy your reactions!!

26:45 "Undercover on the scene -- so he doesn't get arrested again?" So the cops don't see a guy, not in PD uniform, waving a gun around, and take him for one of the bad guys. 28:25 "I wonder why they listened [to Rosewood] that time." Because the first time, Rosewood only had Taggart backing him up; the second time, he's got _lots_ of cops.

These were both rhetorical. 😂 First one I literally say why "so he doesn't get arrested again" and the second was clearly a joke. Hahaha
