Ask Erin to think back to the episode where Uncle Arthur turned Tabita's pet rabbit into a Cocktail Bunny (Carol Wayne) . A Bunny for Tabitha remember The smarty pants boy" at the birthday party That was Danny Bonaduce from the Partridge Family who also played a smarty pants. When Erin was 3-4 years old, was such a cutie. I see why she got the part I envy the Darrins, the get paid the big bucks and get to kiss Ms. Montgomery. What a job!! Fun fact: Except for Endora, of all the main cast members wore their own clothes

I have been a fan of Bewitched since the show began, I've got the entire series, I've got a lot of dialogue memorized from different episodes, a buddy of mine in Denver also has dialogue memorized as well, it is nice to see that Erin has had a normal childhood since 1972 when the show ended, she hasn't suffered the life of drug abuse or alcoholism that many former child actors have had, she has terrific kids, a farm with alpacas, she has the kind of life that makes her happy & is successful at it, if they ever had a fan signing event, I'd pay good money to do that, why not, it'd be a once in a lifetime opportunity, bravo Erin!!!

I have never heard that connection between fencing and acting but it makes total sense, and I love it that Agnes Moorhead told Erin that. I can see how the thrust and retreat motions of fencing practice would assist actors with body work, breath work and the kind of kinesthetics required for actors moving a round a stage and reacting to other performers. Acting is always about “reaction” and fencing has in it that sense of “forward” and “retreat”. Thank you Aggie from beyond the grave for teaching us all that!

@@ThatsClassicTVthe 70s revival was a disaster. I remember watching it at the time and thought it was bad even back then! Just dreadful! Lisa Hartman played “Tabatha” (wrong spelling they used)…. Please ask Erin next time why they didn’t ask her to play the older Tabatha back then? Or she may have still been too young in ‘77 to play the older “Tabitha” (correct spelling) …. But it’s a shame she didn’t do a revival being an original cast member and she looks so much like Lizzie. Perhaps they always wanted “name actors” to play these revivals but Erin would’ve been great.

@@ThatsClassicTV I actually got to meet Kasey Rogers in 1999 at the 1st annual "Retro-Fest" in Santa Monica. Among the other stars there were June Lockhart, Angela Cartwright, Adam West, Frank Gorshin, Linda Blair, Brandon Cruz, Jerry Mathers, Sid & Marty Krofft, Tony Burrows, The DeFranco Family, Dr. Demento, Billy Preston (surprise guest) & Eddie Deezen, who was there to meet Adam West, but he should've had his own kiosk, since everyone knows that face & voice, even if not everyone knows the name. Still have lots of photos & autographs. I didn't live in the area & I wasn't able to make it a regular thing & don't even know if it became a regular event, but it was a lot of fun. Btw, I routinely suggest my favorite movies be added to The National Film Registry, which chooses 25 titles every December to be prioritized for being saved/preserved for the future. A lot of the titles one might expect are already on the Registry, but many of my personal favorites which I suggest (& some of which are very obscure or forgotten) have yet to be chosen & a few still aren't even on the browsing list of unchosen films for people to look through & suggest/nominate. The Registry doesn't focus on TV episodes, music videos or foreign films, but doesn't specifically exclude them, either. There really should be another branch of the Registry focusing on these, but I guess that will take some doing. The Film Registry began in 1989 & was instituted from a national law that was passed. Anyone who wants to can submit suggestions/nominations, a maximum of 50 titles a year, which must be at least 10 years old & have some sort of American affiliation (studio, producers, etc.). The other major criterion is each one must be "culturally, aesthetically &/or historically significant", which, of course, can be a very subjective description. The Registry is part of The Library Of Congress & further details can be found at their website. Perhaps if enough requests are made, a TV Registry can be initiated. There would certainly be no shortage of worthy contenders.
@ThatsClassicTV3 жыл бұрын
@@laustcawz2089 First of all, I am envious, what a line up of actors you met. Amazing. I would have loved to have been there. Interesting info. regarding the National Registry, I imagine it is near impossible for them every year to narrow it down. Very cool.
@laustcawz20893 жыл бұрын
@@ThatsClassicTV Suggestions/nominations from the public do have a lot to do with what gets added. There have been campaigns for a while to get certain films on the Registry...the original "Robocop", for instance. When submitting titles for possible inclusion, it's generally best to cite whatever extra information you may have about the film, especially if it's not an immediately recognizable title. Helpful info. would also include year of release, director/producer/studio/writer(s), locations or interesting trivia to add to the film's legacy. For example, I love 1976's "Burnt Offerings" & it was actually the first movie filmed at Dunsmuir House & Gardens, which was later used in "Phantasm", "So I Married An Axe Murderer" & other films. A question: In a "Bewitched" rerun (that I think was run on Antenna TV), I swear both actors played Darrin in different scenes (time travel episode, I think). Did I imagine this?? My favorite "Bewitched" episodes, btw, include "Samantha's Old Salem Trip", "Samantha Loses Her Voice", "My, What Big Ears You Have" & "Allergic To Ancient Macedonian Dodo Birds". "Bewitched" also was groundbreaking in that it had maybe the largest supporting cast of revolving characters ever (at least up to that time, for a sitcom). The only other sitcom like that which comes to mind for me is "Night Court". Maybe also "The Simpsons" & "South Park". "Bewitched" was first, though & what's so amazing is that this could've easily been (in lesser hands) one of the worst shows ever. Everyone involved put so much into it & was clearly thinking way above the seemingly simple premise of "an average man marries a witch". I also love the creative catch phrases-- "Mustn't twitch." "Witch's honor?" & "Frank, I'm getting one of my sick headaches." Finally, another of Paul Lynde's roles was as the villain "The Hooded Claw" in the cartoon "The Perils Of Penelope Pitstop", which also featured Mel Blanc, Janet Waldo, Gary Owens, Paul Winchell & Don Messick, though Lynde asked to be uncredited, because he thought he might get some ribbing from the other "Hollywood Squares" (like anyone wouldn't know his voice right away!).

Erin is terrific! She carries the “Bewitched” torch in the same way Jimmy Page does for Led Zeppelin. My question: I heard a rumor that on the show they used real alcohol in all the drinking scenes and the cast would sometimes get hammered. Is that true?

I would’ve liked to ask so many other questions about how Erin remembered her lines! It always amazes me how Tabitha would say her lines as such a young child. That is never asked and yet it’s something that would be difficult to get a child to do: to repeat certain lines or do certain things on cue in a show like that: all the nose twitching and hand waving and tricks, for example?

There is a scene - I can't remember the episode - but its with Dick York. Its the end of a scene and he is offering drinks to all the guests in the room. He asks Endora, and she responds out of character, "Thanks Dick" as kind and polite as if it was an after work party. Not at all how Endora would respond in character. She was a great actress though.

I really enjoyed both your interviews with Erin. She is such a nice lady, I met her once at a collectible show and found her to be delightful. In answer to your Shari Lewis question about writing for Star Trek, I looked it up in one of my Star Trek reference books, and yes she did; The Lights of Zetar. I love that Elizabeth Montgomery being most likely Serena, I know she had a lot of fun playing her, but yes, I can see that, she was a very hip lady as they said back then. I love that Agnes Moorehead was a sweet and lovely woman, she's a great actress. Erin is such a great representative of the show and she is so sweet and kind to her fans, I know what she meant, I remember being so excited to see a star of a TV Show, (I won't say the name,) and they treated me so badly and was so rude, I can never even watch them in anything. Even a guest star in a TV series, I just can't watch it again. It has an effect.
