Beyerdynamic DT 1990 Pro VS Neumann NDH 30 | Which One Would I Choose?

For me the Neumann NDH 30 is the best headphone money can buy...at any price. After using them for three months I sold ALL of the other headphones I owned (Sennheiser HD600, Sennheiser HD800s, Beyerdynamic DT1990 Pro, Sony MDR MV1. The Neumann's are an end game headphone for me.

I left this comment on another review but I think it's important: I didn't want neutral for composing, I have a 2.1 Neumannn system for that. I went with the 1990s and all I did in TotalMixFX was cut 8.5KHz by 10db, Q of 4.0, and a slight dip at 250Hz, and they are a sonic JOY. My mixing time is very low vs composing so I'm fine with that forever EQ on my output and can learn them where they are. SO exciting to listen to. If you need neutral headphones for mixing, don't try to sterilize the 1990s, buy the NDH 30s instead. If you have the money, get Audeze MM-500s and you are done. But for exciting tight bass and a big soundstage, tame the 1990s and you are good to go. Thanks for the review!

Today a bought the DT1990 and I know exactly what u mean. I compared them Both. Dt1990, NDH30 and sennheiser hd490 And the dt 1990 pros Are Perfect headphones. U can Hear everything Monitors: Focal Alpha 50 EVO Sound Like Neumann. THANKS for your Video man . Now I gotta Go. MIXING on my new 1990s😂

Hey, bro. Nicely presented video. I am ironically contemplating between the same two said headphones. Like yourself I am leaning more towards the DT 1990 Pro. What concerns me though is, I already have and use the Beyerdynamic DT 990 Pro 250 holms. Only mainly for checking mixes. Readying for mastering. I don't like to wear headphones much. But I'm not impressed by the sound of the DT 990 Pro. They just sound a bit unbalanced, coloured and bass wise, muddy at times. So I don't trust them.

Been using the 1990s for like 2 years now. I switched the cups right away. I hope people dont catch wind of these. So many people use the DT 770's and the ATH M50's. One is like more of a fashion thing as much as it's used for it's purpose. The other is like let me get the more expensive alternative because they must sound better lol.

One more important detail : The 1990s have a noticeably bigger soundstage- they have one of the Most balanced soundstages on the market , nice and wide but at the same time it’s focused which is great for gaming

Yeah, the real difference between the two is the mid range … I prefer the Neumans because they’re less pronounced in the mids
