My idea is, the only reason Trigon always gets beaten by the Teen Titans is because he's just doing it for Raven. He could turn them all into a pile of dust instantly, but instead he strokes the egos' of his daughter and her closest friends by basically letting them beat a god every once in a while. He's evil, yes. But he's also a good dad.

@@recnepsbboc1324 It honestly depends on who is writing at the time whether Raven would actually be good. In Injustice for instance, she believes that the Titans are dead and turns evil out of hatred and regret for not being able to save them. It's quite possible that Trigon knows that fighting them will cause their bonds to become stronger and closer, making her spiral into darkness more likely when they pass and she doesn't.

Something one has to take into consideration about Trigons defeats is that they are not like when Darkseid has to retreat after getting a pummelling from Superman, it is usually because Trigon lets his own power and arrogance blind him to what the Titans might be doing, so he is often distracted doing something else when the Titans are able to blind-side him and throw him into a portal he cant immediately return from.

Yeah, but in the show Teen Titans Trigon conquered Earth and wasn't defeated until Robin forged an alliance with a magically enhanced Deathstroke (resurrected to be Trigon's herald) to give Raven enough time to merge all the different aspects of her psyche into one unified being but man, that Deathstroke & Robin tag team fight..... To my mind, Trigon only losses because he’s hardly ever completely in the story. It’s always a facsimile of him: his essence, influence, spirit…Etc. To my memory, EVERY TIME Trigon really does show up to party he’s won. In every medium of DC. At that point the only being who can beat him is himself, which is why Raven always saves the day at that point.

For me the biggest testament to Trigons power came from a video comparing him to Darkseid which shows him among a council of the most powerful gods, which Darkseid wasn't a part of by the way, in which he gets into an argument with The Presence who actually backs down thinking it would be troublesome to fight him given their situation at the time
