I cannot wait till Beyond the Cates we finally 🙌🏽 gotten a first African-American Daytime SOAPS since over 30 plus year's ago. So I can't wait for this ONE! INCLUDING they gonna be on the same time on Gh... on ABC at 3:00 let the GAMES BEGIN.. Great review brock.

I do not care about the negative reviews because some folks do not want a Black Daytime Soap Opera. I am so happy to see this at age 70 and I know they will bring it on this new soap opera. This is why this soap opera was created to give people of color a chance at a major story and not just for a day or month. Great review.

@@sabrinahughes9699 Are you excited my dear, that is so neat? I know Proctor & Gamble got behind this because they know a winner when they see one. Many have commented that they have black folks on all of the soap operas, yes they do but not with big roles. I bet that GH will try to entice NAC to come back if he is finished filming his movies. This is my gut feeling and CBS is pulling all the strings out with a stellar cast.

I heard about that movie, this makes #3, I heard William Lipton is coming back this week, or is it next week. I feel GH dropped the ball on SPRINA, they had a goldmine with this couple.

I am so excited for Beyond The Gates! I have been sad since General Hospital let Kelly Monaco (Sam McCall) go. I stopped watching GH after her last scene. Looking forward to watching this show from day 1. My favorite soap back in the day was The Edge Of Night.

The promo does give Tyler Perry vibes but that is just the promo. I hope it is written well, not stereotypical for minority people. Good storylines with the soap opera feel. I look forward to watching BTG.

I see what you mean. 😅 it does sort of remind me of the evening show about politics - forgot the name of the show but it was a black show. But I think the trailer is to raise dramatic excitement so I didn’t really get phased by it. Because it made me think of Dynast and Dallas but I’m an old old soap watcher so I didn’t think Tyler Perry - but I see how that reference could be made. 😅😅 but the show has writers so lawd help us all that it will be grounded and characters will be developed and story telling will touch our hearts and souls and not just our reality show guilty pleasures

Hmmm I’m surprised that people didn’t reference the popular (when it started) Empire. Instead of Tyler Perry. I actually thought Dynasty and Dallas when I saw the trailer because those shows had that high drama over the top power moves type of vibes. I think those comments about Tyler Perry goes more to show just how popular his shows are and not a true reference for the type of vibe BTG is going for. If you are a soap genre old head like me, you see the Dynasy and Dallas vibes right off the cuff. This is how old school Bold and the Beautiful was also presented. Glamour and power moves drama! But I am cautiously optimistic because the writing of soaps for the last ten+ years has not been up to par across all the current four soaps. We the audience deserve better so I’m rooting for us to get some good showing from BTG as well as the other 4 soaps (they really need to step it up)

I believe Drew will report Michael to the SEC because of what he and Curtis did to Aurora. He told Michael the SEC wouldbe interested in what he did so I think Drew wi turn him in and he will be arrested until he decides to return, if he decudes to return. I have to wonder how btg will do with all the complaining gh fans are doing about porshia for years, little interest in jordan, criticism of trina, and jens/kai character brand new and alot of Black women mad he is black, sad.

@fletcher373, I have seen the comments. This new soap opera will bring excellence and maybe finish a story and not be afraid to tell Spencer & Trina's story like it should have been told. One thing NAACP, CBS & Proctor & Gamble will all team up and maybe spend more money to shoot other places. Some of these actors have played on former Soaps and on current soaps. We shall see, I am all in because we need changes in these soaps.

😂😂I have seen some of these comments on Instagram and I kept saying yes for GH to release good sis Portia so the actress can join BTG. Same with the lovely actress who plays Trina. I haven’t seen negative talk about Jordan. It her lack of actual development and story is weird because she is so stunning and charismatic. Then again GH really is not writing good story or sensible character development for anyone on its cast. But I can’t root against the soap to get better because GH and I go back to the 1990s and the cast is still top tier. There is definitely space for more soaps but the bad writing is really what is dooming the current four soaps - that more than a few loud silly fans who are not hear and would into the genre but more social media trolling
