One thing to understand about Grace is that she basically sees herself as a movie handicapper, in other words like a person who makes Gambling betting lines. She is always looking for the deep angle that she can see making a movie not make a lot of money. If there was a service that put real money on box office predictions Grace would either run it or be addicted to betting on it.

I think what we are missing is that Grace is an Inside scooper and professional reviewer. This makes her privy to information that most of us don't know unless we too are on the inside. However, some people in this channel know the tone of Hollywood. If it does not interest you or skew your opinion of the actor/movie, just ignore these little tidbits.

They're still not playing up the 'Part 1' angle and the fact that this movie is planned as a 2 part release. This could frustrate a lot of fans who go into it expecting the full movie. Unless Universal has backpaddled on this but they haven't said that's the case.

@@amrit4167 And that’s really the only issue I can see hurting this film. Universal should put the Part 1 in the marketing. However, given the recent Horizon situation putting Chapter 1 in the title could also backfire. I believe this might turn into a “damned if you do/don’t” situation. I think the movie just has to be good. I think it looks amazing, but it really will have to be to get the wide audience invested in even the idea of a second part. TL;DR They should focus on making certain that this is an amazing movie and then the rest should fall into place.

I think its feally unfair and uncool that Grace keeps mentioning Cynthias past. Because honestly, ive never even heard of it and the only person who brings it up, seems to be Grace. This is a woman who claims to ve femenist and all about the girls, yet keeps reminding everyone of cynthias past... Leave her alone. This trailer was just absolutely everything I could've asked for. Music? check, we hear several parts of Defying Gravity, the showstopper number. Visuals? check, since the teaser we knew it would be beautiful but the level or ornate detail that they have shown was actually real and built for the movie continues to astound. Acting? Check, it really seems like all the actors are giving it their all and committing, and even adding more dramatic elements to make this very whismy musical and story feel very real and relatable. also I think that rumor mills saying that the most recent cut of the film is excellent helps with general chatter about the movie plus that PG rating definitely helps win families over who may think something from Broadway may be a bit too much for kids

I think what's wild is this trailer basically has shown us the climax of Part 1 almost beat for beat. It's obvious the movie is ending with Defying Gravity. And now we basically have seen snippets of the finale from all angles.

I was just thinking the same thing. I think it’s a testament to how iconic and well-known the original musical is (at least among theatre fans). They know that a huge portion of the audience is going to go into this movie already knowing what happens, so they don’t necessarily feel the need to keep the plot a secret.

As someone who never got the chance to see this on Broadway I cannot wait for this! The first full trailer worked its way into my head and has been there rent free since it dropped always popping up with that tease of Defying Gravity and now this trailer gives us a bigger piece of that amazing number and I am just… PLEASE let this be as amazing as it looks so that it can be legit competition against Moana 2 and prove that Disney does not have to dominate the Holiday corridor no matter how much affinity I do have for them. If Jon M. Chu can deliver the goods on this and Cynthia and Ariana show up to play, which it looks like they surely are, we could witness Universal giving birth to a brand new IP for themselves. I’m talking look for Elphaba and Galinda to start showing up at Universal Studios! How exciting would that be?! 🤯 Just imagine if this movie could blow up that much to put Elphaba and Galinda on par with Disney Princesses!

Wicked is an incredible musical. If you know the musical then all the trailers were fantastic and gave me the “chills”. If you don’t know the story of wicked, you will absolutely fall madly in love with the story. Trust me. It’s funny, it’s moving and it’s spectacular. With Cynthia and Ariana….this movie(s) will be a blockbuster HIT! People that don’t like musicals will find this movie relatable in many ways. The questions that you may have had in the original Wizard of Oz will be answered in this sorta “prequel”. Although I haven’t seen the film, I can almost guarantee this film will be as fantastical as the original. I know ALL the fans of Wicked and Ariana will see this during this holiday season. I also know those that go to see movies as such during the holidays will definitely see this as well, and I believe with word of mouth, this may be a huge hit. I can’t wait!
