On my truck, the AT4Ws are utterly fantastic on both wet and dry pavement. I took them trailing a little bit but didn't do anything crazy. Even at stock sizes, they gave me a solid command of the vehicle on a rough part of that trail. Reviewers *are* saying the AT4W loses to the AT3W in snow, but that it gains everywhere else. My AT4Ws have no noticeable road noise. The KO2s I just took off of this truck were thoroughly useless on wet pavement. The AT4Ws are 265/70R17 and the KO2s were LT265/70R17.

I have had 8 sets of KO2s on two Off road vehicles. Observations: great all around tire. Snow, rain, dirt. Fair in mud. In all these conditions the performance degrades as the tires age. After first two sets I would change out at 8-10/15ths of tread depth. Just like with a mud terrain, guys who want best performance don’t wait until tire tread is gone. Also a light, flexible and extremely durable tire. Because of the compound, I found it wore more quickly with heavier truck in high heat temps. I ran higher air pressure to help compensate. So for those who tow heavy in high temps I would look at a tire with harder compound but you would probably loose snow performance. Gotta pay to play if you want it all.

Did you “caulk test” the tread contact with the road surface to determine correct PSI? I went 4 years with my KO2’s, I then just switched to the 315/70/17 KO3’s on my Gladiator JTR and caulk tested the PSI to be 32 up front and 30 in the back. With the ice and snow we’ve had in Calgary, I aired down to 30 up front and 28 in the back. I also tossed in 200 lbs in the back and these tires are just freaking amazing. A bit of a learning curve over how the KO2’s handled in the same icy conditions but I’m liking the 12 ply as a pose to the 10 ply.
@SS454LS6Ай бұрын
The chalk test, no. I keep track on my tire wear on the shoulders and on the center. I'm pretty close. But in the winter I tend to run lower temps that I wouldn't want to run in the summer. I run up to 65 psi in the front in the summer. It's just part of the heavy truck life.

A question since you test these in snow and ice. Are you aware of a brand and model dedicated snow tire that comes in a 35 and 37 tire size? I ask b/c I see so many F150's levelled/lifted 2-3"s and having 35 tire added, something I am considering, but living in mountainy ski country it would be nice to find a dedicated snow for between Thanksgiving and Easter. A 37 too, since that is an option for the F150 Raptor and the Bronco Raptor.
