But when governments start banning access to websites they disagree with (like Australia tried years ago), that's when concern should turn to fear. Book banning is more of a symbol of authoritarian censorship at this stage, and really is just a waste of everyone's time and resources (as long as those words can be accessed easily on the internet, which is currently the case with most literature). However, no books should ever be banned, regardless whether or not you agree or disagree with the words written inside.

Guess nobody ever read the last book of the Holy Bible. The Book of Revelation. Everything that is happening now, was already seen and recorded by John on the Isle of Patmos 2,000 years ago. These problems with them is wanting to think that kids need to read the Bible even schools but honestly while they may have children's bibles they want these kids to read the real Bible. Like um maybe not so much cuz if a religious person can admit they would give someone a kids Bible for those who they think doesn't understand the Bible then why keep the Bible in schools where they wouldn't understand it. Because last I check teachers can't go reading the Bible in regular schools because you Sunday schools for that. It be pointless to have it if you're elementary students aren't going to understand it. Might be better to just leave that out of elementary schools. If they don't want to give kids problems on how to understand the Bible. Or if they think it would just be best to include it in the teaching process which I doubt they'll do. I'm a Christian and my parents said the reason Christian schools exist is to keep separation of church and state, they approved of keeping church out of public school. Two of my older siblings went to public highschool, but my one older brother and I did better in smaller class settings so we were sent to a Christian Jr high/high school because the smaller class sizes, not because it was a Christian school. My Christian school even taught the importance of separation of church and state in history class and why it's a good thing.

I’m a Christian (LDS) who HAS read the Bible cover to cover several times. I’ve also taken Bible as lit/historical document & wrote a major paper in Grad school on the History of the Bible as a document. I think I’m informed enough to say the full texted Bible in any translation is ABSOLUTELY not something for children. I also believe that religious texts should not be in public schools. These libraries have limited space and should carry informational books on faiths, but things like the Bible or Koran should be at public libraries or homes. I applaud this decision to remove it from lower grade libraries and place it in the appropriate place.

The reality is that a lot of Americans that support the book banning movement, along with other things are so far up their rear end, and breathe the “AMERICA #1” air so hard, that they can’t even fathom that a global audience exists.

Its amazing how the political debate is going downhill. There is "book banning Law" , the law aplies to school libraries and whether books are suitable or not for CHILDREN. Books are not being banned, you can still buy them anywhere. Whether certains books are, or not, suitable for children is where the debate should be. and that could only be analised on a case by case basis. But the political debate is fueled with hysteria from both sides. And meanwhile, liberal medias ( such as streamings ) have been censoring or altering content to not offend GROWN UPS.
