Honesty, DKDK News is the main reason I subbed to this channel. It's a short format, I get all the k-industry info I need and get back to work. I've been getting frustrated that you are opting for KSTEA & NAKD news more. For starters, they are 1hr shows. As much as I like watching you, and absolutely love your other segments especially K-Pop explained, it breaks my heart that you are seemingly abandoning it. Please consider DKDK News a major part of your channel. It may not pay you directly like Patreon but it's the reason some of us came to you.

Fansigns: I’ve been to several fansigns in Seoul over the last years (note: it’s about 1 min with each member.. not 15 sec like Dany said XD ), standing is THE WORST.. and chairs are definitely the best option. Kneeling was totally fine because the staff offered cushions for us fans, so kneeling didn’t hurt or was uncomfortable. In the past no one was complaining about kneeling in front of their idol lol It’s not a big deal & this way fansites could take beautiful pictures of our idols.

To kneel or not to kneel, if the fans that buy in dont care, why should anyone else. As far as the Garam bullying issue- people do stupid, thoughtless things as they grow up. Thank god im not judged on the things I said &did as a preteen. If her history of bullying persisted or continues to persist that is a red flag and deserves further scrutiny & there should be consequences.Otherwise a persons whole life should not be dictated by their actions as a child. Frankly, im surprised they dont do detailed background checks for prospective idols at this point.

Honestly I thought she was way older than 16 so when I found out people were hardcore bullying her for being a stupid kid once I was like uuuummmmm also I myself always think is this person still the same or have they genuinely changed like she still has a long ways to go and grow idk that's just me.

She allegedly threw a flowerpot at someone’s head and committed other forms of assault + caused a victim to attempt suicide. So far, the accusers have come out with some evidence to support their claims, while HYBE has provided none. Personally not sure if all of the accusations are true or not, but you can’t blame people for not wanting to support Garam.
@yveodstruxn2 жыл бұрын
@@Raven-we7xc while i do not condone such behavior. Speaking from personal experience i don't think anyone can MAKE another commit suicude, but they definitely can exacerbate an unstable individual who is struggling, but its also an unbalanced individual who bullies & throws things in fits of temper. Both girls obviously needed to learn healthier coping skills and needed/need some mental healthcare. I think most teenage girls are a little crazy at some point, females constantly deal with fluctuating hormones which only makes it worse. Being a teenager is hard, growing up isnt easy, life is messy. But people hopefully change as they grow, who you are at 14 is drastically different from who you are at 16, and who you will become at 18 and so on. I still maintain that she should be judged by the sum total of her past &present behavior, and possibly future behavior. If she hasn't learned to be more empathetic and tolerant, cant control her reactive behavior, and bullies people around her, it wont take long to become apparent. Being an idol requires discipline, tolerance &cooperation of/with others, professional behavior, and an ability to handle all types of pressure. People in the public eye may get accolades from fans but they also have to deal with haters, critics, and constant public scrutiny so she's inevitably gonna get some karmic payback for her behavior. Its also important to remember that unless you were there and/or privy to all the details and circumstances, how can you judge fairly. Also, each side will have their version of the truth as they experienced it. If Hybe chooses not to air the details of the situation until they feel they have gathered and reviewed the information rather than throw out a knee jerk reactive statement i dont think that should reflect negatively on the artist or the company. Personally, i think it shows a degree of sensitivity to both parties. *edited to correct grammar

@00justsayin002 жыл бұрын
Idk, the whole Garam situation is really weird to me. A company as big as Hybe would’ve done a check on any potential members. This was also brought up before they even debuted, so I feel like Hybe’s got to have some kind of evidence to back their claims. Why else wouldn’t they have dropped her? They would have circumvented the whole scandal, & had time to do so, if they just would have removed her. Idk, maybe it’s a money thing, where they already had the album packaged, mv completed, & merch ready? Regardless, if she didn’t do anything serious, I think they should soldier through, if she did, the kpop way is to get rid of her. I personally think it’s beyond ignorant to hold someone’s career hostage for something they did as an 11 yrs old. If records show they continued the behavior to current age or adulthood, then u have a problem, once isn’t a problem though, it’s a mistake.
@shinyeee17092 жыл бұрын
Cannot says it is ignorant. Let’s say someone was sexually abuse or assaulted at 10, they carry the trauma all their life. You can’t tell them to toughen up or get over it. It’s the same reason why adult’s career gets ruin for shit they have done in the past. Think of the #metoo movement where old cases 10+ years are brought back to light. And for HYBE, I bet they got the money and connections to make their narrative win the case. Y’all naive to think big ass corporate are so innocent and that everything is black or white. These big agencies walk on the fine lines of grey areas.

@00justsayin002 жыл бұрын
@@Nicholi86 I have read the statements, my whole post was basically speculating my doubt that a company like Hybe wouldn’t be able to back their statements. All the conspiracy theories & shouts for her removal from the group are ignorant without evidence. A statement is not fact. An allegation is not proof of wrongdoing. I want the evidence. Both sides have released statements & made allegation towards the other. They’ve both claimed to have evidence to back their claim, but I guess we’ll have to wait til they go to court.
@Nicholi862 жыл бұрын
@@00justsayin00 I'm not too worried about the evidence since it involves minors. I am not in a rush. What I am paying attention to is the Lawyer's response. They never denied any part of Hybe statement including the fact that the person aliased Eunseo took a selca of Garam's friend while they were changing. Additionally instead of releasing the evidence they claimed they would, they turned and engaged Hybe into talks instead.
@nidhi26932 жыл бұрын
the accuser in this situation has some of the most expensive lawyers backing her case right now. rather than taking sides, i think both sides have holes in their story but i also understand that it may have to do with the fact that they are minors and they can't release evidence publicly. but the accuser and her team seem to be very aggressive in this situation. they (lawyers) know that garam is minor but are threatening to release information to the public while hybe only released the bit about the naked friend in the shared photo AFTER there was so much backlash for a lack of response. also, this is a random theory but i think there may have been a slight physical altercation (maybe a shove at min or slap at max idk) between the two girls. but the reason garam received a 5 was because the accuser is rich. it's stuff you see on the news all the time and even in dramas too, like in itaewon class, where money means more to administrators than honesty. this is just a speculation but garam might have been excessively punished because the school lost a rich investor or something. i'm not sure tho but hopefully they can release a proper statement soon. i just hope that garam isn't kicked out if she's truly innocent like other idols.

I truly do not understand how, when the worst massacre since Sandy Hook occurs, my country can still be so divided on guns..it's devastating. There were two mass shootings within 9 days of eachother, and we still can't get our act together. Maybe taking guns away isn't the best solution right now (because I'm sure people would rebel), but better gun control is the obvious next step! More intensive mental health and background checks. And maybe, just maybe, regular ass people shouldn't be able to go around purchasing AR-15s. Fucking hell. I have two children. I shouldn't have to be so scared every morning when I drop them off at school. My son shouldn't be saying "no mommy, you don't need to worry! Guns are tools and as tools do not kill people on their own. It takes a mentally ill person to do that. Law-abiding normal American gun owners do not shoot people. Unfortunately, gun control laws affect them and not the criminals/mentally unstable people who don't obey gun control laws anyway (and who DO shoot people). So new gun control laws only affect law-abiding citizens. Americans should never allow these laws to pass because they go against U.S. Constitutional rights. The 2nd Amendment protects Americans from tyrannical government, and the fact Americans are armed is the reason that country is the freest on earth. Efforts should instead be made toward the mentally ill and the criminally insane.

I just find it funny because you all want these companies to support their artist and get mad when they let them go but of Hybe does it, it's a problem. Then there's the level 5 punishment, it clearly says that Eunseo was asked to leave because D whose pictures were taken was uncomfortable with her there so she switched schools before she was forced. Otherwise she would have gotten a level.8 on her record which is higher than Garam's level 5. Additionally when you look at the write up for the level 5 done for Garam there is nothing there for bullying or physical altercation. Garam also does not come from a rich family or they would have never accepted the level 5 on her record in the 1st place. Once you read both Hybe and the lawyers states you will realize the lawyers never denied Eunseo took those pictures. That makes her a bigger pro lemon than Garam. That is what I am looking at and I am shocked that people are seriously ignoring this to bully a 16 year old for a verbal altercation that happened when she was 12.

Biden should be asked about this. It was reported in the New York Times: Jan. 24, 2022 WASHINGTON - The Supreme Court agreed on Monday to decide whether race-conscious admissions programs at Harvard and the University of North Carolina are lawful, raising serious doubts about the future of affirmative action in higher education. The court has repeatedly upheld similar programs, most recently in 2016. But the court’s membership has tilted right in recent years, and its new conservative supermajority is almost certain to view the challenged programs with skepticism, imperiling more than 40 years of precedent that said race could be used as one factor among many in evaluating applicants. The case against Harvard accused it of discriminating against Asian American students by using a subjective standard to gauge traits like likability, courage and kindness and by effectively creating a ceiling for them in admissions.

I think fans kneels sometimes more for these people, who makes bunch of photos, and not for idols. If platform with idols will be a bit higher, then it'll be comfy for all and fans won't kneel.

Hmmm... what about low benches? 🤔 Idols would still be visible, fans wouldn't have to kneel, and they can slide down the bench to the next idol.

But now is it news or an ad? The Le Sserafim news very incomplete..... So if you are a bully as a child, there's no hope that you can mature, change, or out grow insecure behavior? I never realized the fans were kneeling in front of the idols. It’s weird. Just get the idols taller chairs and tables and let the fans stand. In the US there is not the same meaning for kneeling so it would just be odd here. But I can see in Korea how it’s more disrespectful. As for LeSerrafim - if they are just going to cut this girl why did they ever let her debut. They knew about the issue and should have taken it into consideration. I’m sure it’s hard enough to debut without having to deal with a controversy right out of the gates. Hope this works out for ALL the girls in the group. Good to see the boys back behind the news desk. 💯💯

The situation between Garam and the victim is one where both sides share some blame in my opinion, and the issue should be considered settled since she was punished for it. It honestly blows my mind that this is such a huge issue that her career needs to be ruined for something she did when she was 12. We need to allow people the room to change and be a better person or else there will never be any reason for anyone to be better if they get treated the same way either way and can never redeem themselves in the eyes of anyone.
@zzzzzzz17512 жыл бұрын
True but Neither you nor I were the victim of her bullying behaviours. It is easier for us to say people should move on but we don’t know how the victim feels. I absolutely hate bullies and to me it seems like this young girl did quite harm to her victims. Many people may feel that forgiving her and her past actions sends a strong message to other bullies that their actions can easily be forgiven without any repercussions. This is how karma works.
@soumya58322 жыл бұрын
@@zzzzzzz1751 I agree with you as she bullied someone of grade 5 at age 12 but one thing I can't get over is that she definitely would have gotten punished for it as its such a high grade and her parents must also have yo pay compensation. If she has been punished should she get a second chance or not cause the thing is that whole situation was if iam not wrong brought again by those who were neither of the parties which lead to this situation. I defended her before but now I don't know anymore just hope that victim is stable right now.
@devochka-s-kare2 жыл бұрын
@@zzzzzzz1751 She did have repercussions though, she already served severe punishment for her part and even apologized before her debut, which is being used against her for some reason. But, if the victim really did post nude photos of someone, I can't say I blame Garam much for trying to defend her friend in a misguided way when she was 12. I probably would have done the same. And I say this as someone who definitely was bullied at that same age. The victim is entitled to their feelings, but I think it's ridiculous for the public to be acting this way about something a child did.
@blairwrelos18912 жыл бұрын
Sure people should be given a chance to redeem themselves, ok great philosophy. But that's when her label and herself were honest from the beginning and showed sincerity. But they completely denied the accusations and acted like she was absolutely at no fault then came out with more excuses until the victim had to put actual evidence on the issue, showing that Kim Garam has no remorse. Just bcoz you get punished doesn't make your actions forgiven. In such cases perpetrators need to do their best to make it up to the victim and then leave it to the victim on being forgiven. You see if they(i.e both her and her label) had admitted to victims claims early on and showed that they are trying to be better people and they've learnt a lesson from that incident, sure what you said would make sense. But honestly they brought this on themselves by making the victim look like a false accuser. Like even the school did not speak on the issue which usually doesn't happen unless the accused is actually wrong.
@soumya58322 жыл бұрын
@@blairwrelos1891 wasn't it not the victim but a third party who disclosed it with "evidences" which lead to alleged garam's friend thinking its the victim and bullying her again then victim 's legal team came out cause of this recent bullying victim tried to commit su*cide . So its not even the victim who did it but someone who had no relation to this case at all.

About bullying in Korean schools...is it so difficult for school administrations to make bullying a big no-no in school? Why can't they have weekly assemblies where they teach compassion and better ways to treat people? This is what we do at my school (I am a teacher) and it actually helps. It's not a perfect solution, but it does open the eyes of most students and you'll even hear them reprimanding each other when one tries to bully another. You've got to remember that these are children and if you don't TEACH them to do better, they will continue to be tempted by their own human nature which drives them to act/look superior to others. Kids have to be CONTINUALLY taught and reminded of these things. (During assemblies, you can have students ACT OUT various bullying scenarios and show the ALTERNATIVE/BETTER way of handling those situations. When young people SEE it unfolding right in front of them, it stirs their emotions and sense of compassion and truly does change the way they think and feel)

I’ve never been to a fan sign but I used to watch them on video when I first got into kpop in 2015. I did have that first moment of “why are they kneeling?” But not because it looked like they were worshiping the idols. Cause yes, if they were kneeling and the idols were standing high above them it would have been weird and awkward to me. But when the fans kneel it put them level with the idols (I honestly don’t understand the logistics of why that was. How low were those tables? How small the chairs? How can sitting people be equal to kneeling people? Was the floor slanted?) However it was accomplished they clearly set it up that way on purpose. The fans were facing them, eye to eye. And yes the fans waiting on raised seats were able to clearly see the idols the whole time and film so people like me could be there in spirit. It didn’t look degrading at all. I only thought it looked uncomfortable cause my knees hurt just watching 😂. If the exact same dynamic was accomplished another way, with chairs facing the idols on equal level AND the fans waiting were at an above angle (the ones I saw were in theater spaces with the idols on stage and the fans in chairs) so they still had a clear view, then isn’t that the same?

Why does Danny always sound so jaded, "Yeah", "Okay", "Yeah"? I love you guys; looking forward to Ramyun&Chill If I went to a fansign event and did not know about the kneeling ahead of time but I noted that most everyone was doing it then I would just assume it was a cultural thing. This includes my thought that maybe it's an Asian culture thing or an idol culture thing; I would not be offended though. But that's just me, I don't generally get offended easily though; if something does offend me from a person whose culture I may not be familiar with, I would ask questions to educate myself before getting immediately offended. But thanks to @DKDKTV, I feel sufficiently educated to not be offended... but my knees don't really allow me to kneel for long anyway though🤷🏾.💜

@The game Yeah but we don't know what really went down like maybe Garam did apologize and Eunseo did not consider it sincere enough or maybe Garam thought that she did not need to apologize for something Eunseo started like if Eunseo did take those nudes of 12 year old Garam and her friend and then Eunseo moved to a different school with no punishment imagine that person coming back 4 years asking for a apology I certainly would not want to apologize to Eunseo I would have thought well you deserved to get punched for taking those nudes in the first place second of all I would have said why are you coming to me 4 years later about a incident you started have not you already ruined enough because what Eunseo did with those nudes probably made Garam and her friends get terrorized even after Eunseo left because people would have still seen those pictures still commented on them truly what Eunseo did if it is true people got to realize those were 12 year old nudes she took and she spread them imagine your nudes being spread on the internet where everyone in your class and maybe old perverted men could see you would not want to apologize to someone like Eunseo who did that to you no you would not.

Are you kidding me? Do Netizens really have that much time on their hands to complain about kneeling at a fan event. There is definitely a good reason for it and it has nothing to do with disrespect. There’s so many other issues in SK for sure that are probably way more important issues than kneeling. Its actually easier just to scoot over than to stand up and move to another cha. So ridiculous! I understand it might be a cultural thing but still just common sense stuff. Netizens are also complaining about a female member that’s been accused about something that she might have done when she was just an immature kid. Another what’s the big deal? People grow up and at that age the front part of the brain for reasoning has not even developed yet but she will be hated for the rest of her life and end her career? SMH. I know people have a hard time finding jobs in SK but still too much time complaining makes me think that they have no job or social life. Always hiding behind their computers like a bunch of cowards. No one in the states would care if a celebrity was a bully as a child. Just another common sense thing. The way they depict bullying in high school dramas is so violent and horrible. But it’s at another level to beat the crap out of someone at school. But to end a celebrity’s career over something they might have done as a child is just too much. Like the actor Jisoo right? I guess people in SK are so perfect that you don’t change as you mature into an adult. It’s as big a deal over there as a sexual assault. Please anyone, David or Danny explain why netizens are like that so I can understand. Netizens are so hateful. I sometimes bullied my younger brother and sister 30 years ago but believe me i grew out of that before i even started middle school. As an adult I wouldn’t even think about doing something like that. People grow up and change. Netizens are the worst thing about Korean culture. Who does everyone think they are to be so judgemental? Ugh

whats with this Korean obsession with not accepting someone learning from their actions? The issue happened years ago from children and it was dealt with then. This cancel culture wants to throw away a persons entire life from one infraction. She isnt bullying now. This person to come after idols now is a clear cut case of defamation and bullying from the past person.

Majority of koreans are sad,miserable people. Just because their own life is streesful and miserable, they want to make everyone's life miserable as well. It's the way they release their stress other than chugging down gallons of alcohol down their throat everyday. You will not last even 2 months if you come here and feel the suffocating nature of this hopeless society firsthand. The birth rate is dropping very fast,old people are increasing day by day ,youth are drowning in their own toxicity, mob mentality is growing, cancel culture is thriving, shallow superficiality and judgemental attitude is increasing; religion ,spirituality and human compassion is dying,depression is everywhere and suicide rate is climbing sky high day by day. In my culture kneeling doesn't hold any meaning. People don't bow to other people out of respect or to apologize. So I wouldn't mind the kneeling at all of it serves the purpose. But I understand for some cultures kneeling is a special act, and I respect their point of view. On the Garam issue, I don't know why Hybe is fighting so much for Garam, they must have good reasons that we as the public might not understand. But I think almost everybody would agree that Hybe could've done better with the issue. In my opinion, if they were planning on defending her, they could've postponed Lesserafim's debut or put Garam in hiatus immediately and debut Lesserafim with five members. If they have a way to prove Garam's innocence, she could be reinstated as soon as her name gets cleared. Now, nobody will believe Hybe even if they find a way to prove her innocence.
