Well when you have a car dominated general planning, you have to add parking and remove city. In the end it looks like some US city centers. However, it is hard to do a Amsterdam/Copenhagen style city with limited car parking, as everyone can use public transport and bicycles. I will try this in my next holidays.

My favorite episode in a while! Especially the intro, it brings back how areas have been built somewhere remote, now you'll find them somewhere within the city: timeless fascination of C:S! Name suggestion "Grand sTEAl inc." Some remarks: 23:11 BPL are just great you've picked the spots prepared for curbs w/o adding any. check the mod for the additional assets (e.g. grass version!) for more beautification 32:24 "angled parkings 6x1" by vilgard92 might be perfect for the area around the library 33:48 I think the key to the change of traffic flow has been rotation of fields. Now trucks will find them on the LEFT side when approaching; to my investigations, routing becomes messy if that's the case. also beware the 4L road you chose does very likely not allow crossing (median) lanes, so trucks have to get past the fields & turn around to enter the fields again. I'd probably simply flip the fields back since traffic has actually not been an issue before. Thanks for pointing out the parking feature of TM:PE, it birngs yet another challenge to the game - awesome

I'm just going to repeat (And expand upon) my comment from one of the previous videos regarding park gates. "The people sneaking into parks instead of going through the gates. For me that happens every single time I connect an elevated/bridge path directly to the gate." At 4:18ish you saw some people bypassing the gate and going into the park area. For me that always happens if I connect the gate directly to a bridge or elevated path (Haven't checked if it happens with tunnels also). The solution is a tiny stretch of path placed between the gate and the first node of the bridge/elevated path. It is like when you place a pathway close to a road (Without a gate) but not completely up against the road. If it's the end of the path it will generate a blob of pavement and actually connect to the road. Same thing seems to happen with elevated paths if they aren't forced into a ground level path. So effectively there is a blob of walking paths under the park gate (And to the sides - It's even visible on the narrower gates), which allows people to skip the gate entirely.

This means that you are not producing animal products fast enough to satisfy the demand, which is why you are importing. Biffa, the parking at the university was originally surrounded by walking paths with no road connection. Unless it has changed paths do not allow any vehicles including police and garbage collection. I used to lay out beautiful college campuses using campus paths and all of the buildings on the campus would start complaining about high crime and trash piling up. I would make sure there was a close police station and make sure there was plenty of garbage collection trucks and processing facilities and finally realized that cars cannot use the campus paths. I did discover that hearses can drive on park paths or there would be dead people all over the large build it yourself parks with main and side gates. When you replaced your original parking with the "big" parking lot you started by connecting it to the road network. I believe if you had made a road connection to the existing parking it would have began working. Thanks for explaining Parking AI. I always turn that on and choose more realistic parking and assume it doesn't do anything because people drive to where they want to go, jump out of their car and go in the building or park but if you watch their self parking car it will make a bee line to an open parking space and go through buildings, other cars, fences and park but nothing about that seemed like more realistic parking to me.

Looks like the traffic issue in the farm area at about the 35:00 mark is because you rotated the farms from facing the large industrial road. Also, it looks like the 2-lane roads connecting the farm dirt roads to the main road into the farm area are one-way roads. I bet if you change the one-way 2-lane roads into asymmetric roads you would see more of the traffic that is returning to the farms from dropping off at the grain silos go straight on the big industrial road, turn right onto the main road in/out of the farm area, and then turn right onto the formerly dirt farm roads. Or, based on the view at 37:51, put in a one-way road from the 4-lane industrial road into the farm road would get the trucks returning from the silos to use the industrial road rather than look around the back farm road.

In regards to your farm Biffa. Yeah people are wrong you are not importing Animal Products, since you can't import them, if you are importing anything for your farm it would be Crops. You only import the primary item in your industries (the top on in the flowcharts), so the problem you may have is you need a field or fruit plantagion more. But looking at the flowchart at 13:28 you are exporting 220 tons of your 257 tons crops you make, and also exporting animal products and flour, so you are most likely doing very well on your farm.

@37:24 you should make that road (the dirt road you are upgrading) asymmetrical as they have no reason to turn onto the main road there, they can use the road north of it. This would cut down on traffic crossing over, and prevent it from backing up while it waits since that road is so small that only one truck can idle in it Or you could delete it completely, make the top and bottom road completely one way since there is no reason for trucks from the crop fields to go on the road with the trees. They can come in through the one-way, turn for the crops or go straight for the trees. Either way, that little corner road is too small no matter what, I think it'd be best to do the latter and just delete that dirt road (the one you are upgrading at this timestamp) and make the rest one-way
@DefinitelyNotSpam3 жыл бұрын
The entry ways and both exits are one way, there is literally no reason for that dirt road, as it just turns the entire area into a roundabout If they turn left, the only place they can go is back down lol If they turn right, they could've just went straight and went onto the main road there

The shoe factory would be amazing with the name "A-teadas" or just "ATEADAS shoes". Love the content, keep up the good work!

You should check your parking lots to make sure they have lights on them so no one is parking in the dark. And some of them need some landscaping, no one like a huge concrete pad with no greenery. Also the the shoe factory can be Nik-Tea.

Sometimes with those smaller crop silos if they're causing silly amounts of traffic I will make them all "fill" and it calms things down. Deliveries are still made and they get refilled but theres less traffic shuffling around if that makes sense.
