Royal temper tantrum😍Seemed like Mom and Dad had this lesson planned! Jackie no longer screams at Shadow to leave, and she picked at that fish drawing Simba over to her while Shadow stepped down to eat the other fish. Great parents, Simba needs these lessons as same would’ve happened if he had a 😔sibling stealing his fish.

Meat Grinder . Yes, normally they stick around after fledge and we see them return to the nest tree and photographers will post pics of them in the area. I was kidding in my post about him sticking around (in the nest) another week or two. I stream the nest to my tv daily and will miss his antics. 🙂

I think Simba, being a modern eagle in Southern California, is very savvy when it comes to social media and pumping up the view counts. The longer he's in the nest, the more views he gets. Simba is still a little awkward physically, but he is also using that as part of his clever strategy to increase view counts. imo. 🦅🦅🤣🤣👍🖖😎

Lol and tonight and another long squee scene from the nose bleed section, wing slaps were really funny though. Mom just sat there as Simba again heard her calls and did not come down, she did try to get ubove him for the night again. Learning. He has Cookie by mom's branch where he has been for night time Zzzzs, had a quick nap on top of Cookie after is sparse lunch... He is so very dramatic.

I was watching it when it happened. When he walked away I was like oh kiddo Daddy is right up there that fish is gone and boom down came Shadman. It was bad enough Mom was eating it, but he doesn’t seem to mind her doing it as much, but man oh man it kills him for Shadow to eat his food. He needs to be quiet and just eat. 💜😂💜

Simba you have been here long enough to understand that you need to eat with a sense of urgency. Daddy Shadow devoured his fish in less than a minute. That's a valuable lesson that I just realized while watching Shadow. The more you whine the more you will go to bed hungry from your meals being confiscated by your parents.

I googled to see what eagles do when one of their offspring dies in the nest. Some sites stated that a parent will throw it out of the nest. Big Bear stated that they leave it in the nest and generally move it to the side of the nest. We witnessed Simba sleeping next to Cookie for some time after his death. On 7/17/19, at 10:20 a.m., Simba was resting in the nest bowl with Cookie's carcass in front of him. Throughout the past week, Simba has pecked at Cookie. Perhaps, observation of Simba's behavior towards Angel Cookie may indicate Simba's affection, or attachment, for Cookie. Simba does stand on Cookie. He also walks on him, carries him in his talons, and naps on, or near, him. Watching him with Cookie brings many questions to my mind.

Simba is a weird bird. If you eat for an hour, and aren't full, you're doing it wrong. I think he needs some time fending for himself to sort out his priorities, but no teen-aged boy as indulged as this one is EVER going to leave home!
