Unfortunately they and most other meal kits don't accommodate for allergies or other medical conditions. :( I'd use them but I'm very very allergic to tomatoes and apparently they can't just filter their recipes so I don't get any with tomato. Cause if one gets punctured or something and leaks on the other veggies that aren't wrapped, I can't eat them :/ many also don't even accommodate for common allergies like peanuts. It's kinda sucky.

I know exactly what's going to happen, big Ed will get dumped by Liz. Then they will have big Ed meet a new girl, then big Ed will get dumped by that girl and the cycle will repeat because big Ed is their big freaky Cash Cow people cannot help but to want to look at the freak, I know that sounds harsh but it's true.

In Ed’s particular case, his insecurity is probably internalised. What that means is he simply suspects people to behave like he himself would. He would cheat the moment there is an opportunity and therefore, he thinks everyone else would too
@xX-qw4of
@xX-qw4of Жыл бұрын
Yep, that's a pretty common pathology. It's why cheaters always assume the other person is cheating. It's why people that lie a lot rarely believe anyone. People tend to think others behave the same

He's consistently confrontational and pushing her into situations he knows she won't like, to test her loyalty, so he can feel good enough for 5 minutes. It's never enough for him and probably never will be. Every time he feels insecure he tells himself it's her fault. She must be emotionally exhausted.

Ed’s comment in response to the therapist asking him to say something good about his partner is a big reason I have very mixed feelings about relationship therapy. The therapist doesn’t know the context of him praising her for getting up early to work out; she probably thinks that it’s a sweet, genuine comment from a someone trying to help their partner stick to their goals. But we know Ed, and we know that it’s part of an ongoing manipulation tactic to lower Liz’s self esteem. It’s just so easy for someone like Ed to turn couples therapy into another avenue of abuse. I legit cringed when Liz mentioned her fears of being homeless. The therapist just unknowingly gave Ed more ammunition to abuse her.
@shahkhal1134
@shahkhal1134 Жыл бұрын
Very true! Have you ever read that book by Lundy Bancroft, "Why Does He Do That?". IIRC he has a whole chapter on how couples therapy inadvertently empowers abusers, and gives them weapons to further subjugate their partners.
@Kate-is5mz
@Kate-is5mz Жыл бұрын
That's the issue, therapy is done all wrong. This is why you need to have your therapist in life, in a similar way you got your plumber guy, a gym you usually go to, a dentist, and a doctor that has your record for, like, 10 years now, etc. In the same way, therapy is a marathon, not a sprint, and it should be an ongoing activity, rather than an emergency procedure for when things are already broken and falling apart, you feel me? A doctor that has no idea what was going on with your body before might not recognize changes and abnormalities in time in a way a doctor that has been examining you for years would - the second dude will catch things before they develop into a problem / disease, you feel me?

@@Kate-is5mz I agree. That’s why I said I had mixed feelings about couples therapy in particular. There’s also the fact that there’s a massive conflict of interest on the therapist’s part in couples’ therapy- if the couple breaks up, the therapist doesn’t get paid anymore. So there is an incentive for therapists to keep couples together that really would be better apart. And unlike regular therapy, I’ve never really seen couples therapists address that conflict of interest or how they try to mitigate it.

“Getting in a relationship doesn’t fix your problems, you’re just throwing your problems at your partner.” I agree with this so much. Obviously people with problems still deserve love and can give love but expecting a relationship to make you happy and melt away all your issues is so unrealistic and a heavy responsibility to put on your partner.

Big Ed technically wasn't wrong to start detangling at the ends of the hair! That's where you're supposed to start in order to avoid breakage. Starting at the roots when your hair is tangled leaves you hugely vulnerable to breaking and tearing your hair, which you obviously don't want to do. But if I were him, I'd be significantly more gentle about it xD He's so rough with her that it reminds me of a kid playing with their American Girl doll that has a rats nest for hair xD

She may have said DON'T start at the root but for some weird reason TLC cut it right at "the root" but you absolutely don't start at the root when brushing/combing long hair, you start at the bottom and get the tangles out and then go a little higher and begin again until the entire hair is smooth. If you start from the top you'll push all that snarled hair together and it becomes 1 huge unbelievably tangled mess and take much more time, effort and pain to undo it. Just thought someone might need to hear this if they didn't already know 🤷‍♀️

Therapy is really important. I didn't go until my first year of college and honestly I thank my best friend who was my roommate at the time who encouraged me to go to therapy. Before therapy I was very much not dealing with anything and now after therapy when things get bad I am still able to work through my emotions and come out a better person. I really am thankful I was able to get therapy and feel validated about my feelings and also helping me with creating interpersonal relationships!

It also helps to find the RIGHT therapist! From the time I was in third grade until I was 17, I had the wrong therapist. She didn't catch my autism/ADHD/OCD/panic disorder, and her only treatment suggestion was to take Prozac, which never worked for me. She even threatened to institutionalize me when I disclosed my suicidal feelings to her, which sent me into a panic attack. (I'm not the type of person who would benefit from institutionalization; it would make me worse!) She finally realized she wasn't doing anything for me and recommended my current therapist, who has done AMAZING things for me. She got me diagnosed with everything I have going on, and she got me hooked up with a psychiatrist, who realized the Prozac was doing jack shit, and he found out I have severely treatment-resistant depression, so he literally spent YEARS with me finding the right treatment. I even went through a round of TMS, which helped GREATLY and got me stable enough to continue switching around my meds until we FINALLY found the combo that works for me. I'm mentally healthier now than I ever have been! My therapist is my soft place to fall, and I don't know where I'd be without her.

11:19 sums up exactly why Liz is probably still with Ed. I think he’s made her financially dependent on him and he holds that over her head. Without Ed she doesn’t have stability, but being with Ed makes it impossible for her to gain any independence because he’s so controlling over her. Liz knows, she knows that she’s in a very bad situation.

The way those abusers work is: they destroy your self esteem while making you think they're the only ones who will ever love you cause you're "crazy", "needy", "not pretty", etc., so you stay out of fear of never being loved. Such a toxic behavior, yet you dont leave cause being alone sounds scary, basically. It takes a lot to leave a relationship like that cause as a reaction you become paranoid of your own feelings: if you get angry at they're actions, they tell you you're insane. If you want to leave them, they "remind" you how they stayed with you while at "your worst". If you believe what your family/friends say about them, they nag at you for trusting someone else over them. It's a crazy loop that makes you go back to them. I've been there, and I only left after being cheated on and guilt-tripped into thinking being insecure after it was my fault. Of course, there's always a chance Liz is staying because of money, so 🤷‍♀️ reality TV is everything but real

The hair brushing scene bothered me enough to actually comment and say that you do actually start at the end of your hair and brush up towards the root. That way you get the tangles out from the bottom instead of pulling more hair out trying to get through them all at once. Once you get out all the tangles and knots from the ends to the roots, then you brush from the roots down. This prevents unnecessary hair loss and damage 😊

He would accuse me so badly that I would literally get on my knees sobbing and screaming swearing on my life that I was mot doing what he was accusing. He accused me so badly that our fights got physical bc he would genuinely think I was cheating or he thought I would sneak out of the house while he was sleeping. He needed help but couldn't get it. He passed in 2019. But being constantly accused of something you're not doing..IT...IS..HELL!! Now anytime somebody even kinda accuses me of lying or w.e. I get so tense and anxious. Hope that you're hanging in there Leo, and thank you so much for staying true to yourself through whatever you find yourself struggling through. Thank you for still making awesome AF videos and sharing with all of us your time, your authentic self, wisdoms and perspectives. To quote ReddX, a YT creator that I enjoy very very much actually, "please remember friend, you are loved, you are worthy and you definitely *definitely* deserve it." And it's absolutely true! 💜 Truly wishing you the all best and hope you see better days soon, buddy.

The part about different attachment styles and one of the partners needing their own time and to be fulfilled in other areas while the other parters wants them just whole for themselves hits a little too close to home. One of my relationship fell apart because of something similar. There were many moments when I felt kinda smothered

Seems to me as though big Ed leaves her because it makes him feel more in control or like he has the power over her. Maybe he leaves first so that she can't leave him. Also might just be an immature way of making sure that she still wants him. No matter the reason, it's gonna backfire on him one of these times. She's only gonna be left so many times before she just accepts it and doesn't fight it anymore.

Leo, if you see this or not, I just wanted to let you know that you always bring a smile to my face. Recently there was an attack in the US near my hometown where a lot of LGBTQ+ people were hurt and killed. I've been grieving and I haven't been okay for a bit since hearing the news. I pull up your videos because you are the only thing that brings me happiness when it's hard. Yes, this is a big ed video, and its just commentary. But I hope you know that your videos mean a lot to people. No matter how silly. It matters and you matter. Keep going.

I don’t even believe she loves him as deep as she thinks she does. You hit it right on the nail when saying codependency, it’s that and the manipulation on his part. She’s scared of being the one that is in the wrong as well as being alone, feeling guilty and confused about the validity of her feelings, and when she starts seeing things straight he lovebombs her. She’s in denial about how horrible he is and how he does nothing to help his insecurities. I really hope she realises she’s worth more than that and that neither her or her daughter deserves that. Btw that psychiatrist is on point! Edit: the comment about internalised insecurities is also very true.
