Leo tries to wipe the record and have them on an even setting every new video it seems, which makes it harder for him to remember the severity of what Eds done and how Liz's behaviours are just petty reactive abuse of someone cornered. You can see how she's changed and her confidence has gotten warped around him while Ed is the same, it says a lot. If you try to see them as on equal footing then it makes sense to think the friends should just be supportive but most the remaining friends have watched her get isolated and more dependant and they're trying their best to remind her she has self-worth without him and nothing should make her need to put up with abuse. It's not being non-supportive to say 'if he's not supportive you get out'.

I was on an abusive relationship for four years when my daughter was younger. The guy wasn’t even her dad and I still regret it because I never meant to have her see me like that or be around a man who caused so much stress in my life. I hate that I put her through that and I never will again. It’s hard to get rid of shitty people in your life, but it’s ultimately what you need to do. Especially when children are involved. You can’t take care of yourself or your child when you’re so focused on this other adult who needs your constant attention and doesn’t actually love you or your daughter. Ed doesn’t care about what Liz needs or wants do I’d imagine he doesn’t care about her daughter either. He’s not making any decisions regarding the inclusion of her child and Liz doesn’t talk about that either. Liz hardly mentions her child whether that’s due to editing or because she just isn’t focused on her whole with Ed. I think Liz could do so much better if she learned to value herself.

She gave up custody because she was homeless and sleeping in her car. Which is a valid reason to give your child to their father. She doesn’t have enough stability to get her child back. She’ll have to bust her butt constantly to feed a second mouth, which means that she won’t be entirely present. The father is more than like married and has a solid support system, no way in hell he’s giving up his custody for his child to go into uncertainty.
