Chris Duarte is a true blue guitar hero who can play anything and anyone's style as well as his own which is what all the greats do they do a cover that's better than the original like Stevie Ray Vaughan did as well as Mr Gary Moore when he covered Red House at the fender tribute show no one wanted to follow him

This guy is not just a stellar musician , he's also a genuinely nice person .A year or so ago he played a weeknight in SF Ca. Aftter the show he was around to hawk his new CD and talk up the fans .I told him about my little radio show in Sonoma Ca .It's unpaid situation , but I have a lot of fun with it .I knew he had a day off between SF and Santa Rosa which was the night of my show . Asked if he wanted talk on air .He drove in the rain and spent over an hour to tell stories .Just a great guy .

This is one of Chris' best charts/solos. There are others, but what Chris does is combine the magical components of Rhythm, lead & bass into a symphony of lay-down blues with all the dissonance & harmonics we expect. He destroys on this cut!

he destroyed the song, you are right. normally, I could sing it but he ruined it... you are settling for something less than. He won't make the list of 100 Best Guitar players ever, unless he is a Freemason. Then he becomes of no use as he is then the devils toy...

'Chris feels his music just like SRV, & Gary Moore.' what a bullshit statement, he is a good actor. Does he even get permission to use other artists songs? Can he do ANYTHING besides COPY a song? He's just playin and acting to get your attention. Would you know a real artist from a fake? I sincerely doubt it. And how long you been listenin to music? Why am I not drawn to listen to another song of Duarte?

@@INUAGAIN Did Chris bang your old lady or something? Just wondering because you apparently have nothing better to do than bash on him. If he’s not your cup of tea fine…move on to someone who does. Some of us enjoy what he brings to the table. Do YOU know a real artist from a “fake”? Kinda doubt it…you’re probably a 13 year old in mommy’s basement talking shit about something you know next to nothing about. And couldn’t do if you sold your soul to the devil. Pretty sure I’ve been listening to music longer than you have. And no one gives a flying f*ck whether you’re drawn to another of his songs or not. Just go away.

Dang it! I'm addicted to this guy. He's a real artist; he just lets the music and his emotions take over. The result, to me, is guitar magic. He goes off-mike and starts howling. Love his throaty Strat. In my next life, I wanna be like CD. I try to set my tone up like his on my Paul Reed Smith and Mesa Mk V. My MXR Carbon Copy, Fulltone OCD, and Wampler compressor help big-time; those and a Big Horsie Wah is all I need. Notice how his he has his amp travel cases blocking the front of his amps, to prevent that "icepick" phenomenon for closeby listeners. I've even seen guys turn their amps around; they say it sounds better that way. I tend to agree.
@babydollrock5 ай бұрын

I love how you can clearly hear the influence of SRV (and coltrane? in the solos) throughout the song, but he's employing it to make his own superb creation. At one point he plays a Stevie inspired voodoo child lick, as if he were exposing his roots and paying homage to them. The pure emotion he expresses in his playing is just so clear, it's moving.

Chris is an amazing talent, one of the true greats...and he deserved FAR better camera work and producing from the "Legends TV" producing team. The only time they showed him playing was during solos, but as exceptional as that is, what is extraordinary with Chris is his rhythm/lead funky grooves while he's singing...and if the "Legends TV" team had lived up to their title, they would have shown ALL of that as well. A stunning performance, badly shot and produced...but still just glorious to watch and hear. He IS a legendary talent!!

I had the privilege of seeing Chris at a bluesfest about 3 or 4 days before this was taped, He was fucking incredible.! He was the headliner that night and he really brought it. He started his improv-freestyle shredding as he did on this song and I turned around and the crowd started thinning out....apparently they were expecting traditional blues....Chris is far from that.....he is the master of his worn-out Fender. He played well into the evening and just blew me away......
