Big Palomino Trout Caught On Opening Day Of Trout |SW PA|

There was only one trout in the spot I chose for opening day and it was a big golden rainbow trout. So I caught it. I actually caught two more later on in the day but I wasn't making a video at the time.

Thanks man! I have a few nets but I never use them because whenever I'm walking through brush the netting gets caught on everything. Its definitely risky trout fishing without one though.

Hey man nice catch just be a little more careful with handling those big fish like that keep them above water for a pick wet ur hands before touching them and don’t set them on land they are very fragile and will die I’m not being a jerk just trying to give you advice from one angler to another but good catch

You couldn't have said it any better. It's hard enough to catch and release trout. If you handle one the way this guy did, it will die. Most all trout in streams are stocked. That should make no difference on catch and release. Buy a net and don't touch the fish at all if possible.

Great advice. My brother won't even pull em out of the water and he pulls monsters. He's a fly fishing guy. Removes the barbs from his hooks etc.

Fishing from the road is allowed but I think since the land owner is clearing out the one side of the road the stocking truck probably thought it was best to skip this hole.

I've seen people around me start 5-10 minutes early before and you what everyone else does?.... They join them. And I didn't catch that trout until 8:24 am. you definitely killed that fish after that. trout are extremely sensitive to the touch. and as tight as you were holding him trying to get a picture like that. u were better off keeping it. i wouldve and ive never even came close to catching one that size.

I didnt even need to revive it. It was out and back into the water within a minute. It swam away completely fine. Its probably on somebody else’s wall right now. And people hold trout all the time

@@k_haulin didnt say you had to revive it. yeah it swam away fine but it will get an illness and die within a week. unless someone else catches it and keeps it anyway. you took alot of its slime coat off especially with the dirt. get yourself a rubber net and keep the fish in the water or if you have to sit it on the ground momentarily to take a photo make sure its not in mud.

@@k_haulin someetimes even catfish as strong as they are if they get covered in mud from being caught they dont have a strong chance of living because the slime is what keeps them from getting sick

I hate seeing people put trout on land, unless you intend too kill it and and eat good, buy a net and treat it correctly. It truly is a shame too see such a nice fish treated so shitty, not only that few people actually get a chance too catch one of these fish, like me, so please with all respect not due please just learn too handle fish if you like catch and release. It's common courtesy for others and the fish.

The fish swam away with no problem tho. I guarantee someone else caught it by now and ate it. That fish was on the ground for 20 seconds. I could've been more careless if I wanted too but I know trout are "delicate". That fish was back in the water in under 60 seconds.
