I know the video is old but I wanted to thank you for being quite thorough about the installation. No silly music, no silly jokes, just straight talk on how to accomplish the task. I am saving this video for my installation in a few weeks. Thanks again.

It’s not a bad install. Watch the CJ pony parts video too. I used that mostly for mine.

By far the most helpful video out! All the other videos just show pulling out the old and magically having all the lines connected. Thank you!

Seconded. Watched every install video I can find. This is the most informative. Full stop.

The damn coolant feed line kicked my ass. I had to quit for the night before I torched the whole car. By the time I snugg it up the hose kinks, so I waited to hook the line to the turbo last and it ended up cross threading a bit. Now I can't get it on straight and idk how to tighten the 45 elbow enough to not leak
@UGFluffyTurtle2 жыл бұрын
Btw the coolant hose hooks up behind the heater core line. I'm fairly sure its the intake line and tbh you can just pop it off. I had to replace both, it doesn't have the quick disconnect feature, so its fairly easy to pop off as long as you have a pick tool. It's an extra step, but makes sure the coolant line is secure.

Definitely saving this video for when I do mine in a couple weeks probably won't be able to do it in one day like you did though lol

I've been dragging my feet on this install. It just seems like such a pain to do laying on your back lol.

First time sucks. Learning process. After that it’s like changing the oil.

@@JordanMoree well I am in the middle of it and your video has been such a huge help. For anyone reading and looking to do this I had this question come up and it isn't really mentioned in any video: Do I reuse the manifold gasket when installing the new Turbo? The answer I have found in the forums is NO. All you need is the fire ring. Using the stock gasket and the fire ring can cause a leak. I'm still in the process of routing the oil/coolant lines and then figuring out the vacuum lines are hooked up. But so far so good. Thanks so much for the video!
@AlexTurbo4 жыл бұрын
I'm having a hard time telling but did you add vacuum line to the boost controller? I saw Bill from CJPP do it and he didnt specify what size line he used. Would you happen to know what size I would need for that? Is it 1/4, 5/16, or something different?
@JordanMoree4 жыл бұрын
I actually used that video to help with my install. No I didn’t have to add any extra vacuum line. I used all the stock lines. I believe Bill actually did add longer lines but as long as you mock it up with the couplers on and get your points to drill for the boost reference points it will fit with the stock lines no problem.

How did you get the rubber coolant line back on? I know you explained it by going over the top and from the back but how the heck did you get it to go back on the little nipple. I’m having a hell of a time!!!
@JordanMoree3 жыл бұрын
I’ll be honest. It was the hardest thing on this install possibly. I just used a number of different pliers and beat up my hand pretty good getting behind there and just wiggling it on. Good luck!

What about the line for the stock bov ? On the Stock turbo there’s this line for the stock bov ? What do you do with it ! Where’s the bov on the new turbo ?
@JordanMoree4 жыл бұрын
New turbo doesn’t have a bov. You’ll have to source out a new one. I went with CP-e’s exhale kit with the tial BOV and you simply cap off the original line that went to your stock BOV. Here’s a link to my install of this. kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZpKrZayoq7p2e8U

Do we reuse the old turbo gasket? Or is the fire ring the gasket?
@JordanMoree3 жыл бұрын
From my understanding the fire ring replaces the old gasket. I had the same question myself. But it’s been on there for 2 years now with no issues

Do I still need to drill both holes if using cp-e exhale kit with the hks bov?
@JordanMoree3 жыл бұрын
I’m not really sure what you’re referring to. You shouldn’t have to drill anything for the exhale kit with either bov.

Will you need new injectors for this set up?
@JordanMoree4 жыл бұрын
No the stock injectors are fine. However to get the full performance out of the turbo you will need some sort of aux fueling with a separate set of injectors. You will also need a higher octane fuel and/or water/methanol injection. 93 pump gas is limited by octane and from my understanding the HPFP is not capable of flowing enough fuel even with race gas or ethanol blend. 93 octane will net you around low 300’s on hp and E30 will get you mid 300’s. I’ve heard of guys breaking the 400hp mark without an auxiliary fuel system but they are running at least E30 and water/methanol system.

@@JordanMoree nah you can run almost 400 on stock hpfp, just gotta 85 tune which you can do from Edge Autosports tune.
