honestly...I'm not sure how anyone could dislike these videos by Alan...they're easy to listen to, good quality, straight to the point with a lot of knowledge. Love the content y'all are putting out! I'm so stuck on what to do next...my 2016 FoST is FBO E30 by JST and it runs flawlessly. But if I want to target the 350-380whp mark while keeping my torque high (currently Im pretty sure I'm running the max numbers ppl get around 300whp/420-440wtq based on how hard its pulling even BT cars)... I like the idea of not having to upgrade a single component besides the turbo and a tune if i went with the Garrett PowerMax. I think I could be happy around the numbers I mentioned...still reliable on the factory clutch, axles, etc but a noticeable bump on the top end where the K03 just dies off. $1070+$couple hundred for a new tune, easy weekend doing the swap, done. These turbos are great, Id love to make 440+whp but then you're talking thousands in additional supporting mods I dont think I'd honestly care to do for a daily driver.

I'm stock fuel system/stock block. My ST mechanic is recommending the BNR 3071 over the BNR 2867 even on stock fueling as it is more reliable and bigger. I was curious what your thoughts were? I dont plan on AUX fuel or building the motor but I will consider a meth kit after big turbo
@orangejjay Жыл бұрын
Did you end up going with the 3071? For those wondering: 3071 will have more lag than the 2867. 2867 is perfect. 3071 leaves a lot of folks wishing they went smaller as the lag is too much on such a small engine.
@runningwildttv3648 Жыл бұрын
@orangejjay Allen has done a comparison of the BNR 2867 and the BNR3071 the 3071 only spooled 100 rpm later and put down much higher hp and trq.

Question: instead of the Tial BOV, can I use the Turbosmart BOV Dual port? Do you all sell a BOV flange kit? I understand the GTX2867 turbo kit you sell comes with the Tial BOV
@EdgeAutosport3 жыл бұрын
You can use anything. It's just that the kits that are out there use the Tial flange so it's more common. But for example, we have a custom built hot pipe with a Go Fast Bits 50mm v-band BOV on ours. So you can do whatever you want if you venture away from the kits.

@EdgeAutosport3 жыл бұрын
In theory, I think it might. But you'd be stretching it's limits quite a bit and that's not something we usually recommend. But it'll at least get close I think. 450-460whp is going to be the sweet spot for that turbo.

What'd you go with? I know with these, you have a lot of additional costs to support the bigger turbos. But if you went with something like the Garrett PowerMax that Alan has demonstrated in other videos, you can literally 'bolt on' anoter 15-20% power without touching a single other component. Thats just kinda where we start our power pulls from usually - spool is awesome for autoX, so maybe even consider the 2860R II for really quick spool and a more modest top end goal. You definitely don't want to wait for power on a short track.

@@EdgeAutosportOK, I'm not dead set on how I want to do this car or if it'll be tracked future. @sategllib2191 no it does not. This proves a 2867 spools faster. It was an ATP however BNR also makes a 2867 I think spool times for those would be very similar. As spool times are based on AR size. That is why a 3071 with a smaller AR can spool within a couple hundred RPMs of a 2867.
