My favourite part about these for me is the lower noise level. Ive been saying for almost a decade that polishers needed to get quieter and lighter. The only thing i dislike is that these have a trigger which to me is an obsolete part of a tool. Plus and minus buttons or fein style push pads are a better option and improves rear handle ergonomics. Plus to me single orbit polishers are becoming outdated. Whilst not done properly yet, variable orbit dual mode and a universal polisher are what i believe are the future. Thought that way since thinking of variable orbit in 2006. Regardless, hopefully the electronics and gear set of the new hlr prove more reliable than previous generations of these tools.

Does the backing plate/shroud still require dielectric grease for lubrication?

It took 1 battery to cut 90% of a Macan hood. It did well refining but the cutting step was tough on the battery.

I own 3 rupes polishers, they are far and away the best. Those batteries look very similar to my Makita tools batteries, are they interchangeable? That would make me more likely to purchase a few of these, as I have lots of 18 volt batteries.

Hi Dave, no the batteries are not interchangeable with other brands

Very Cool. I would love to attend a Rupes Academy Seminar, but there is none in Germany. Such a shame.

For the price, what exactly are the benefits of this new polisher over the old one? Longer runtime? No, the old one can run all day. Noise? You still have to wear hearing protection. Weight? People pay for the gym to lift, at least you don't pay to lift for the old one. Comfort? Yes, but you have to work harder to cope with the cost of the polisher. Higher maintenance? Yes, due to battery and electric bill expenses. Better performance? No.

Both my HLR 15 & 21 stopped working after 1 hour of use. Very disappointing!
@RUPES4 ай бұрын
Sorry to hear about both tools stopping after an hour. Have you ensured the battery is charged? Also, if you overloaded the tool with too much pressure it will automatically stop. Simply release the battery and affix again to reset the tool's system. If you are experiencing further issues, head to www.rupesusa.com/repairs to begin a repair request and our repair team can evaluate the tool and work with you on appropriate recommendations.

My HLR21 lasted less than two hours of finishing work. There's a smell of burnt plastic. I am very disappointed with this polisher. Almost a thousand euros for trash. My LHR21 and LHR15 are practically immortal in comparison.

The trigger design on this is hot garbage. I’m sticking with my Milwaukee
@jeffc68327 ай бұрын
Its the same trigger as the previous machines. My Milwaukee is fine, but the trigger is nowhere near as good on it when compared to my corded Rupes. The Milwaukee is getting sold to buy one of these.
