People talk about the TV dads from the sitcoms back in the 80’s. Bill was our KZbin dad. He had knowledge that he was always willing to share, had an authoritative disposition but seemed like the nicest guy around. I never knew him personally, but I’ve been getting knowledge from him for years. I’m sorry for your family’s loss. Best of luck to you all.

Thank you so much for your kind words and acknowledgement of my Dad and all the tireless work he did. I'm so happy that I was able to share him with the world for past (almost) 20 years since he started this channel. He did a lot of good and contributed so much to this incredible Powerstroke community. His loss has been nothing short of devastating and paralyzing. As his daughter, all I ask is for everyone to continue sharing their memories and favorite stories of him whenever and wherever you can. Thanks again. - Emily

Yes, I completely agree. I stumbled upon his videos some years back and became much more educated about my 7.3 through Mr. Hewitt’s experience and expertise. I didn’t know him personally but I sure would have liked to. God love ya Mr. Hewitt and God Bless his family. Your legacy is all things Powerstroke.

I never owned a diesel, but Bill taught me a tremendous amount about diesel and trucks. I always enjoyed his videos and lectures, starting in 2008 when I was just a teenager. Im happy to see Powerstroke Speciality will continue on even in the wake of Bill's loss.

Oh, he definitely did know, and he felt a connection with each and every person who commented, subscribed, and messaged him. He LOVED what he did, and he loved his followers. Whether he met you in person or just spoke to you through his videos, he considered you family. Connection was his greatest gift and he felt an obligation to this community. His loss is indescribable in so many ways, and he is immensely missed. I'm not sure if we will ever live to see anyone like him, and that is our greatest loss. Thank you for your comment, I'm warmed to hear of his impact on you. -Emily, Bill's daughter

@@Hewittemilyj I’m sorry for y’all’s loss. Ya know, I still go back through and watch his videos. Maybe not as much for the advice as I used to but because sometimes it’s nice to just watch his content and see how much he enjoyed it. I never got to meet him in person, but for some reason he seemed like a friend. Sometimes I need a good ole friend and I will put his videos on loop. I’ve never heard a single person say anything bad about him in the PowerStroke community. I’m still learning things from him that I may not have picked up the first time. People will still be learning from him even after he’s gone from us. He’s definitely gonna be missed. Again, I’m sorry for y’all’s loss and I hope you can somewhat try to enjoy your New Year. Having never owned a diesel before Bill guided me through the gauntlet of my 03 6.0 stretching out its longevity with his helpful videos. Like so many others I watched videos of models I never owned just because he and the techs made it so entertaining while you learned something too. All the best to Bill's family and crew from Canada.

Heard about his passing after it happened, what a loss…. I never owned a diesel, but as a FF drove a lot of them. I’ve watched his videos for years, always was amazed by his desire to help others by giving his free knowledge. I actually wanted to visit the shop since I live in Florida but have not had the time to. I wish I could have met Bill, he was such an asset to not only this channel but I’m sure countless of mechanics out there. I really am sorry to hear of his passing. I pray that somehow you all will find peace. I pray the shop moves forward in a successful and positive way. Again so sorry to hear of his passing, I pray that you all can get through the holidays and see the sunshine again. Thanks Bill for all of your dedication and honesty, Sir you will be missed by more people then you know.

I somehow missed his passing. I have had a gasoline super duty since 2012. But I had a 2007 6.0 before that, and this man saved my bacon! I also referred to his shared knowledge to help my friends and family with these trucks. I was a soldier, far from home, and my truck was giving me fits. He gave me the tools I needed to handle business. I will never forget him. To share one's hard-earned knowledge is a very generous thing to do. What an incredible service he offered to others. I wonder if he truly knew the far reaching positive impact of his actions?

I’ve been watching Bill on and off fir years, this is the first I’d heard of his passing. I honestly feel sick to my stomach, much the same way I did when “Diesel tech Ron” (I actually found Bill due to watching Ron’s stuff) passed well before his time and left behind a cast collection of knowledge and thousands of people who thought very highly of him…..Bill left behind that same level of legacy and then some. God bless you all in this trying time, we all know he’s in a better place now.
