Very useful ideas. The question is why put the club down next to the ball before setting up to strike the ball? Now I have developed the critical reasoning to always place the club behind the ball before setting up to strike the ball. We want our body to conform to the striking of the ball and not the striking of the ball to conform to the position of the body. Plus the practice swings to be of a good shot to get the ball close.
