2005 holds a special place in my heart. Sophomore in high school, was really into Metallica and Black Sabbath but just wanted something heavier. With no influence I went to the local record store right before summer break and picked up 3 albums just out of gut instinct. As I lay Dying "Shadows are Security", Killswitch Engage " Alive or Just Breathing", and Shadows Fall " The Art of Balance". Along with the records, I was given a flyer to the Sounds of Underground Tour. Which ended up being my first metal show. I was a teenager then, I'm 35 now. But I now know why i remember all those times so vividly. That was when I fell in love with metal.

I was a junior that year...well on my way to being expelled first semester of next year for the 40 truancies I had when I ditched most of the beginning of that year because...oxycontin...still not only graduated despite the police escort at my expulsion saying id "never graditate!" even though I had 3 more than enough creds to graduate right there and then...came back and the asshat that expelled me had to read my name at commencement, which doubled as my 18th birthday with a keg in my trunk at the event, for the honors diploma and had to look me in the eye bawlz while he saw me looking like this when I was made to stand up: 🖕😎🖕

The Ascendancy tour was my first metal gig, it was incredible! Got to meet Matt and Co. before and after the show, absolutely lovely group of guys. I’m gonna have to try get to this tour! 😅

That is some killer keyart for the tour! I love the mashup of elements from both album covers! Tour artwork has been amazing overall for metal shows the last couple years. The Pantera Tribute tour's art was great and I just saw MH on the Slaughter the MarTour and Sevendust and Static-X on the Machine Killer tour and both had such good key art, I had to buy four shirts and a flag between the two shows just for the art alone! And that's only a few examples.

Bullet did the poison in full at brixton a few years ago and it was amazing. It was the first time I saw Jaime and not Jay. He killed it. There is a dvd of it and it’s all over KZbin. Worth checking out

mannnn the tours coming through Canada in the spring, erra headlining, alpha wolf headlining. knocked loose headlining, architects, kublai khan, amity affliction and periphery, and then there's some significant openers for those headliners, not to mention Northlane will probably announce something soon for Canada as well. Gonna be a busy ass spring driving to montreal from ottawa to see these tours because ottawa gets neglected often.

I can’t believe I almost missed out on metalcore , I got turned on to Trivium in 2017 , in my 40s . I just dug into Bullet last year I love it all . Parkway, ATR and KSE it’s pretty great exploring all the music all at once.

Now, here's an idea that this jas inspired in my head. The biggest 6/7 mid 2000's metalcore bands collab on an album. Each re records their favourite song of theirs from that period. They then record a cover of one of the other band's songs. Then one banger with ALL of them as the money shot at the end. It could be a mass celebration of the pinicle of metalcore.🤌
