@Frommerman

@@_BangDroid_ Chat on anarchy servers like 2b2t is infamously horrific. If they could somehow implement a chat reporter which targeted only fascist monsters, child predators, etc, that would obviously be great for the community, and honestly the world at large. But the system they have spoiled so far instantly mutes you for typing "2900b," or any word which contains the spelling of a banned one like association, a bunch of different actual locations with unfortunate spelling, shitake, etc. And all of this ignores that flat bans on words are both meaningless and counter-productive, as fascist assholes will always just come up with new slurs, and doing this prevents well-intentioned people from explaining to others why we even want to remove words from the lexicon in the first place. The problem isn't the idea of chat reporting and banning. Silencing and deplatforming monsters is always a great idea. The problem is that this is an extraordinarily hard problem which cannot be solved through any algorithmic process short of full general intelligence. Which is why it needs to be left up to communities.

"MSPT dropped from a bit over 50 now to around 23, so huge improvement, we would obviously like this in Vanilla but Mojang has other priorities like chat reporting" The 1.19 update is so laughably bad, but I am glad that we can laugh about this already.
@RichHeart89

Mud is cool, frogs are cool, ancient cities are cool. There's a lot of great things in 1.19. The fact that we don't get performance updates much on Java is only because they want us to make the jump onto Bedrock where vanilla performance is way better. Sure we who use or make mods and deal with issues ourselves will be fine with Java as it is but given time more and more people will choose Bedrock over Java. From a business standpoint Java is a liability. Microsoft can afford running two release versions of the game at the same time to garner some goodwill from the players in general but some day, when the Java population is small enough it will stop being updated. And when that day comes we will be happy that there is already a thriving modding community who can continue with the unofficial support for java Minecraft So in a long run it's probably a good thing for java that Microsoft is slowly letting it rot already

Happened to me 10 times already and 2 times in a row. It's not good for the heart of hardcore players. I just want to travel not fight the warden. The recent updates to the game has been fairly good content wise. Way better terrain generation, better caves, taller worlds, lots of really nice building blocks, moss (best block in the game). That they have not done huge work on performance does no make it a laughably bad update.

@@hellytubbies The fact that a few modders are able to improve the game performance by that much in their free time proves that Mojang either doesn't care about performance or is just incompetent (probably both). I've been a programmer for 15 years and I can tell you that many java devs neither care about nor know how to write performant applications. Java is usually used in the business environment, where there is enough money to just increase the infrastructure to compensate for the bad performance. It only becomes a problem for single thread applications like Minecraft

As it happens, 4,319,648 smooth stone slabs works out to almost exactly 2500 shulker boxes full of smooth stone slabs - it's 2499 full shulker boxes, plus another shulker box that's five and a half stacks short of being full. You'd need 47 double chests full of shulker boxes to store it all. I don't know what's more intimidating - the scale of this farm, or the fact that SciCraft can think "47 double chests of shulker boxes? Yeah, that seems manageable. Maybe this farm is worth building."

For anyone interested, in an XP farm that would translate 2.75M (2.63M for nether portal version) XP per hour. That is 46x / 18x / 15x times faster than the theoretical maximum for an enderman / pigman / guardian XP farms respectively. Also would require around ~8000 furnaces running in parallel to keep up, but is 32 times slower than the necessary for the maxed out furnace based XP farm (fastest possible in the game).
