There used to a be a graphite paste we used to line y he crucible with. And also we used to wet patch with clay. And bake it to repair it. And then reseal it with a ceramic paste. Forgot the recipe. But it was part silica. Carbon. Graphite. With a certain clay. Made crucible last forever.

Great video my daughters and I love watching your videos. I was wondering if you've ever considered a ribbon burner set up since it's quieter and more efficient. I've never seen one in foundry work but I have in blacksmithing. Just wondered if you had tried it or considered it.
@bigstackD5 жыл бұрын
Cheers for that 😁. Never ever even considered a ribbon burner as Im very happy with the devil Forge burners I currently use .I don’t mind the noise my current furnaces make its actually relaxing for me to hear the continued loud rumble of it . Neighbors probably arnt fans of it but they have never said anything yet 🤷🏻♂️😉

Okay cool I was just curious seeing as how you are monitoring your fuel use and I know you can forge 1095 steel at 2.5psi with a ribbon burner so it could be more economical and cost friendly to the hobby I have read great reviews about the devil forge burners so I can understand the being happy with it.
